Do naps benefit the human body? There are two lengths of naps, long and short with different amounts of usefulness. Many successful people nap, such as Thomas Edison, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan. Sleep researchers recommend that these health workers take short naps on the job. If an individual routinely loses sleep, then the amount needed for the human body of sleep loss adds up. As an example, if people lose two hours of sleep each night an individual will receive a sleep debt of 14-15 hours. Napping has a drastic effect on the human body because it boosts memory and provides a short time boost for alertness and performance.

To improve memory, an individual should take a short or long nap . On line 22 in source #2 it states “The researchers found that napping improves memory.” This shows that napping improves memory. It also shows how researchers find ways of napping benefits. People may say napping makes them feel groggy. This statement is false, because when an individual takes a short nap it improves productivity, decreases fatigue, and improves an individual's mood.
