Third Time’s the Charm Have you ever had a dream your toys came to life? Well that’s what happens in Toy Story and Toy Story 3. In these animations, the toys talk and walk around when their owner Andy isn’t playing with them. Some may think the original movies are the best but one could disagree. Between the two animations, Toy Story 3 is better than Toy Story because of the fascinating plot, the courageous characters and riveting action. Toy Story is the inferior movie because of the childish plot. Yes, the characters are children, but they do things that make them seem immature and younger. The neighbor kid, Sid, blows up his toys with rockets instead of playing with his toys. He gets entertainment from destroying his toys. This means that Sid doesn’t know how to take care of his toys. There are also new characters that get mixed in. The original characters are happy and excited with their decision to be donated to the daycare instead of sitting in the attic, not knowing how long they with be there. They really want to be loved and played with. This means they are happy and aren’t fighting like in the first movie. They decided to work all together. This means the movie is a lot more enjoyable and better to watch. If there is happiness in the movie, then people will enjoy watching it. The new characters play a big role in this movie. Lots-o, Ken, Stretch, bookworm, big baby, chunk, twitch and chatter telephone are some of the new characters at the daycare. They are really happy to see the original toys and help them into their new home. This means the new characters are very including and want the new toys to feel at home. All of Pixar’s iconic films are inspired from small ideas drawn from aspects of everyday life. One of the most prominent inspirations was channeled into the film Finding Nemo. Andrew Stanton, a high ranking director and producer for Pixar, used his memories of a fish tank in a dentist’s office from his childhood as half of the story in Finding Nemo. Stanton’s sympathy for the fish and being an overprotective father served as the other half of the basic story and together the two memories formed the emotional anchor for the film. Another idea that spawned from a staff member helped create the unforgettable and heartfelt film Toy Story. John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Pixar, owned many rare and collectible toys, and became nervous whenever his kids wanted to play with them. However, the real message, Lasseter realized, is just because a toy is signed by Tom Hanks, it does not mean that it is sentenced to life on a shelf. Channeling that type of thinking into all of the toys in Toy Story is what makes the film so cherished and more easily relatable. Another popular film is The Incredibles, which is Pixar’s tribute to pop mythology, comic books, and spy movies. The other inspiration for this movie deals with an average, everyday family life: the fear, anxiety, work, and insecurities that happen throughout a day. .... While it was good for its era and considered a classic by many, this film has many flaws due to the technological constraints. The musical numbers aren’t catchy, the story felt lacking, the visuals are putrid at times, and I have no idea how it won the Oscar for special effects. The orphans seemed to show little importance to the story besides Paul. After Charlie displayed arrogance, he never did anything to sway away from that. Carrie had the smallest part of the film and it seemed almost non-existent. Paul was probably the only orphan required for the story to progress. I would only recommend this movie to those who are either a fan of classic Disney movies or to a parent that would like to show their children something different. Despite winning an Oscar for special effects and being deemed a classic, Disney’s Bedknob and Broomsticks is rather average.
The movie and the book were both appreciable and they illustrated how important remembering is. I personally liked the book better because it had more details and I liked the characters better. I liked Gertrude and Aaron. I would recommend this book to 8th graders around the world because it fits their age. Toy story is a heartwarming tale about a Cowboy Doll, Woody, who is Andy’s favorite toy. It is until Andy’s gets the newest toy Buzz Lightyear that Woody starts getting jealous. Woody takes matters into his own hands by trying to get rid of Buzz. His plan goes downhill, and he ends up falling out of Andy’s car with buzz. To win back his friends, Woody decides to go and save Buzz. Woody shows bravery throughout the movie and proves what toys are really made of. In Toy Story, Woody completes his hero journey when he separates from the safety Andy’s House, is initiated into to reunite with Andy, and returns home to Andy and the other toys as an equal.
Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.

Dr. Vernon Johns was a pastor and civil rights activist in the 1920s. Johns became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama in the late 1940s. Holden tries to preserve his own innocence, and the innocence of others by not letting go of childhood memories and through his desire to suspend time. Holden views the adult world as corrupt and full of phonies. He admires childhood because of how it is free of corruption, and untouched by the adult world. IN order to preserve his own innocence Holden often attaches himself to childhood memories. The Museum of NAtural History is one of Holden’s favourite places . He mentions that his grade one teacher Miss. Aigletinger used to take his class there every saturday. In conclusion, I feel that Toy Story is a much more advanced film when compared to some of Disney’s other animated films. Apart from the obvious technological advances made in animation technology, it also appeals on a much deeper level. The camera angles and techniques used help to add to the “realism” of the film but still give it an edge of the unreal. The way it appeals on all levels to both adults and children is helped by the fact that there is no clean-cut good and evil and even the good characters aren’t perfect. This is something that Toy Story has over even its followers such as “A Bug’s Life”.
Disney promotes sexisim by forcing young girls to live in a patriarchal world. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The little mermaid, Aladdin, and Snow White are all examples of popular Disney movies that encourage young viewers that they need a man to save the day. Yes, it’s true that there are recent movies such as Moana and Frozen that prove otherwise, but how long will it take to completely get over the fact that women are mainly viewed as secondary citizens compared to the men? There are countless examples of how Disney movies influence this theme, and how much the female characters’ actions, ideas and thoughts are not included in a Disney movie.

Life in the United States has a very wide range of experiences, from religious and cultural beliefs, to ethnic diversity and understanding and everything that goes along with it. The longer I live here, the more I begin to understand that this is truly the land of the free and the home of the brave. Growing up, I 've had my share of good and bad experiences in this country, from racial discrimination, to people literally giving the shirts off their backs to those in need. Thanks to social media, these experiences have grown even larger, allowing me to see more than just what is in front of me. Unfortunately, social media seems to focus only on the negative, making my positive experiences come mainly from what I see with my own eyes.
