The year 1943 was when everything started to tumble down and falling apart. It was World War II. Anne Frank and her family, the Van Danns, and all their friends are right in the middle of the Holocaust. While keeping safe, these families and friends are all there for each other when anything does not go as planned, or if they just need a smile. While analyzing the three parts of a story: the beginning, middle, and end; it becomes clear that, along with her family and friends, Anne has a true heart and helps others feel better in times of adversity. What’s the use of telling you bad news…“ This quote shows significance because it shows that each character is supportive of one another and they are all willing to only bring the best of news to one another. Furthermore, This quote shows indirect characterization because it shows Mr. Kraler’s sympathy for having to bare all his friends and family with bad news before he even gets anything out. Based on this quote, it is obvious Mr. Kraler feels that because of everything that is going on, there needs to be some positive light shed onto the house.
