In the book ‘Trash’ by Andy Mulligan an important event was when Gardo and Sister Olivia went to visit Gabriel Olondriz in prison. This event was important because it led them to getting the bible which led them to finding out the hidden message which eventually led them to finding the money and they found out more about Jose Angelico which may have helped them on all Saints day.

I found the event when Gardo and Sister Olivia went to see Gabriel Olondriz in prison important because it led them to finding the bible which is to me one of the most important parts of the story. Even though Gabriel Olondriz couldn’t give the bible to Gardo at the prison Gabriel tells Gardo that the prison guard will give it to him shown in this quote ‘ He will bring the bible to Behala.’ This did happen even though the guard tried to catch the boys Gardo got away with the bible safely and could continue on with their journey …show more content…

Mr Olondriz said ‘ Jose Angelico was the sweetest boy,’ showing us what kind of a person Jose was and Mr Olondriz also went on to say ‘ Once he wanted to be a doctor,’ this also showed the Jose Angelico set his goals high and he was very hard working. This is relevant because I think it made Raphael, Rat and Gardo want to solve the mystery even more now they knew what kind of a guy Jose was and that they knew how corrupt their parliament was and really wanted to do something about it.

The story ‘ Trash’ by Andy Mulligan is an example of true friendship, corruption and poverty all tied into an inspiring novel for all. It shows how three boys with an immensely tight friendship can overcome poverty and corruption making a better world for all. This novel also makes me feel quite sad because this kind of scenario happens all around the world yet their isn’t much to stop it happening in some
