Global Climate Change: Economic And Environmental Impacts

2013 Words5 Pages

Global climate change poses a serious challenge for all of humanity; our commitment to implement policies will reduce the environmental impacts associated with change in climate over the long term. Although there are difficulties in discovering all the economic and environmental impacts climate change pose, we still must allocate resources to fund scientific research and related projects, establish global initiatives, and monitor changes in weather patterns as a result of such programs, society will minimize the effects of climate change on the planet.
There is a global argument that climate change is not real, that is why this paper tells a lot about scientific discoveries and evidence that climate change is a fact and it is currently taking
“Climate change is sure to occur in some form” declared the CIG’s first report, Impacts of climate change on the Pacific Northwest, issued in 1999”. (Hertsgaard, 2011, 79).
While the truth holds that climate is changing on the global scale, it will be necessary for us to understand some the processes that leads to the change in climate. Research suggests that with the introduction of modern technology, human activities have substantially contributed to global warming by releasing emissions in the atmosphere which continue to increase more greenhouse effect thus allowing global temperature to rise. Taylor writes,
“Global warming adds energy to the atmosphere, causing weather patterns to change and extreme events to occur more frequently. Over the last 100 years, average global temperatures have by 1.4° F (0.8°
… [Most of the observed warming over the last 50 years is likely to have been due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations” [p. 21 in (4)]”. This assessment evidently shows that global climate change is real and it’s not a hoax as many politicians and people believe but a direct result of human activities. There are numerous facts that show that our planet is under tremendous stress while at the same time humanity will experience a growing crisis, which will be unavoidable if proper policies are not taken into consideration. We, as a society, need to understand the actuality concerning global climate change and its environmental impacts. That is why we need to take measures to protect and to provide sustainable initiatives in order to save our planet. Although it 's nearly impossible to predict the future about the effects of global warming, the facts hold that human activities will continue to transform the planet. For example, according to
