In a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, President Barack Obama was quizzed about the subject of aliens, by a little girl. In typical Obama style, the President responded with some light humor, though, as some UFO sources are saying, did not completely deny the subject. This may, according to UFOs On Earth, “lead to many possible interpretations, or maybe not” (1). When the little girl quizzed Obama whether aliens were real, the President rather noncommittally asked the girl what she thought about aliens. The girl admitted she thought aliens were real after she watched a TV program about them. Making a joke out of it at least diffuses the situation. Now, that said, I honestly don’t think we’re ever going to get an admission from a sitting president that the US has any knowledge of UFOs or ETs. I just don’t see it happening.” Of course the fact President Obama doesn’t immediately dismiss the idea of extra-terrestrial life and chooses to make light of the situation and provide noncommittal answers, is enough to give many a UFO believer fodder. To UFO believers, they simply deem it as testament that alien life does exist and that ‘those in higher places’ know it exists but are unwilling to share their knowledge with Joe Public. In so doing, this allows public opportunity to view and judge via the internet or print media the validity of a U.F.O. A number of weeks ago, I saw this exact video online which not just caught my eye, but also millions of people’s attention as well. This U. F. O. sighting shows a light hovering above the Dome of The Rock, in Jerusalem, Israel. This location is known as arguably one of the holiest sites in the history of the world according to both Judaism and Islam. Not only did the object hover, but it displayed a flash-like strobe light and sped upwards towards space afterwards. After viewing this video clip on the internet, I, a skeptic who does not believe in the concept of U.F.O.’s, began to think that perhaps this was credible.
Located 90 miles north of Las Vegas sits a high-security military base widely known as Area 51. For decades people have had suspicions about whether or not alien life forms exist and if so, whether or not they are imprisoned at Area 51. This curiosity has been fueled by not only interest in extraterrestrials, but also reported sightings of foreign life forms not from planet Earth. The conspiracies, other life forms exist and are being kept at military base, have largely been fueled by the government’s involvement in nearly all reported sightings. Area 51 not only has discovered other forms of life from outer space but also is most likely conducting strange experiments there.
UFOs invoke hysteria in society and cause people to believe other worldly beings are among us. The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller, talks about the hysteria surrounding the Salem Witch Trials. These two topics are similar because in both cases society tends to have seen things; in this case witches and UFOs/aliens, meanwhile other people didn't witness it nor have it happen to them yet, if not ever. Also, in both cases, there is a huge split between people who believe that UFOs/witches are real and people who don't believe they exist thinking that they are myths and hoaxes. I clicked on the second result which took me to www.dailymail.com.uk which talked about how an old defense minister claims that aliens have visited earth before and that the government is most definitely hiding them. The next website I explored was www.telegraph.com and the value of their website was very important. There are numerous of different movies, books, and TV shows on how humans think aliens interact, look similar to, and what the media portrays aliens to be like. Occasionally, most will stumble across news articles with a variety of related headings about aliens, UFO’s, or recent known abduction stories. Whether or not the Roswell incident truly involved a UFO remains unclear. How ever, the military cover-up only served to fuel the fire of our imaginations. Interest continues to grow, as questions remain unanswered. The thought of government cover-ups have been long discussed. The government has always, in the past, tried to keep any sign of aliens, whether it be pictures from space, to crashes on earth, to a low or nonexistent level. It has in some ways been believed that the government has worked in partnership with popular movie directors, to produce alien movies to ease the thought that we may not be alone. Do aliens exist? For eons, mankind has pondered over this peculiar question and a revealing truth has yet to be answered. However, one thing is known for sure, the discovery of intelligent alien life outside of Earth would provide support to prove and/or disprove fundamental beliefs that have been held for centuries. In any case, the discovery would serve as a cornerstone for humanity to make the quantum leap in understanding the purpose of our existence. Based on numerous examples, it is impossible to deny the existence of extraterrestrial life outside of Earth. Reportings of sightings, ancient civilizations beliefs, and scientific proof from scientists and astronomers are all key factors that contribute to this statement.
