To what extent do the aims and methods of Islamic extremist groups misrepresent the teachings and practices of the Islamic faith?

Al-Qaeda

Al-Qaeda is a militant Islamic organisation known for terrorism. Today`s society sees them as an extremist group and very dangerous. Al-Qaeda was founded by Osama Bin Laden in the late 1980s. This terrorist group believes in killing humans for their God, “Allah” and they will go through great extents to achieve right by Allah. Al-Qaeda have declared “Holy war” on Americans, Jews and their allies. Although most Muslims believe this is not what the Koran teaches, Al-Qaeda thinks otherwise.

Most of the Muslim population believe that Al-Qaeda and other Islamic extremist groups are doing wrong by Allah but Al-Qaeda has a different point of view. Osama Bin Laden wanted to avenge the wrongs done by Christians and Jews against Muslims. Al-Qaeda aims are to re-shape the world into a world where Islam is the only religion followed globally. They hold a grudge against America specifically and wants to get rid of all of them from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the home of the holiest Islamic sites and Al-Qaeda want to drive out all Americans and non-Muslims. Al-Qaeda is not worried about any laws made by humans but they only follow one law which is, God`s law. In the Quran it states to “strive for Allah” and that is what Al-Qaeda thinks they are doing. They use violence and extreme acts of terrorism to anyone or anything that threatens their vision of an Islamic religion
