The Age of Exploration began in the early 1400s, the Europeans started to dominate the world. This is a time period that brought two worlds together. European explorers were able to discover the New World for many different reasons. Their actions cause great changes for both worlds. Even though there were negative effects of the new world, the Age of Exploration brought two worlds together because economic gain was the main cause of the Age, and the actions caused great change for both worlds.
The Age of Exploration was caused by advances in technology. Price Henry of Portugal started a navigation school. Some of the advances were compasses, cannons and sails for the ships, new guns, and maps. Two of the most influential explorers of the Age, were students of Prince Henry at his navigation school. Their names are Vasco da Gama and Bartholomew Dias. Fame was one of the causes of the Age of Exploration. Most of the explorers wanted their name to be known throughout the entire world and wanted to leave behind a legacy. To be in control over a certain area, European kingdoms would finance the explorers. Another cause of the Age of Exploration was Religious factors. After gaining the trust of the locals, the explorers would take control, so that they could spread their version of Christianity around to the New World. …show more content…

Since the Europeans were coming to the Americas , most of all the Native American population was destroyed. The negative effect was the diseases that were spread throughout Europe, and most people were vulnerable to. There was hostility between two different groups of people. One group was the introduction of Christianity to the natives, and the other was the expulsion of the Natives from their own land.
