Thank you for everything you have done for me. Thank you for allowing me to get a professional basketball experience when I was such a young age. You gave hope to my parents for sacrificing everything they had, so I could get a good basketball career. Even though I was doubted for being good, you were the only team to give me a chance and that has made me respect your front office greatly. I’ve learned so much from the coaches. I remember my first training session where I was the skinniest person on the court. Everyone looked at me as a stick figure. But instead of taking these comments as a hatred, you all taught me to change that hatred into motivation. Look at me now, everytime I step my foot on the court, everyone respects me as a player.
Most players that enter the NBA draft early are 19 or 20 years-old. They are going to end up playing against 25-year-olds that are stronger, faster, and that have had more experience than they have. Along with more experience, they will not be as physically fit because one or two years of college will not do it, and high school will not do it. For example, Lebron James. He is considered one of the best to have played the game, and he went straight out of high school. Imagine if he had gone to college, he would be so much better. So if they leave after the freshman or sophomore year, they will be about five or six years behind and that will make it harder to get a spot on the bench. If they do not make it to the bench, then they will be in the D league for 2 or 3 years to help develop their skills. “The D-League uses a tiered compensation system that's based on experience. Players with ample NBA
As an athlete I will continue to show my coaches the up most respect. Just this year, I have learned that being a coach is a tough job and that a lot of hours are put in to it. I never realized it until I came to the gym late at night and my coach was still here getting things prepared for our next game. As I observe, I will hopefully learn some different strategies I can use one day when I’m a coach one day. It will help me in the long run because when I become a coach, I plan to be the best coach I can be with many winning
Since the age of two, I have been dancing. I have been involved in lyrical and classical ballet, contemporary, pointe, hiphop, jazz and tap. When I turned 6 I also took up gymnastics. Through middle school I danced, and did gymanstics as well as softball and soccer. I loved these sports but when high school hit, I had to pick one and I chose cheerleading. I chose this sport because it was not only a extraordinary team athletically but they were extremely involved with the community. We had fundraisers for less fortunate children multiple times and even got to interact with them every winter. The leadership role on the cheer team taught me so much, we lead the entire student body to have school spirit and respect at the football games every friday night. My senior year I decided to switch back to dance and tried out for my high school dance team, and made it! It has been such a blessing to me by showing me even more leadership and how to serve others at our school and in the community.
Who is Michael Jordan?Michael Jordan is famous basketball player. He is 53 years old and is married. He had four jerseys.Three of his jerseys and from the Bulls and the other one is from the Wizards.
Basketball is a great sport for people that like to run because basketball involves running up and down the court.. Some people like basketball because they like the idea of the sport or the competition. Most people have something specific that they like about basketball. For instance: Some people like free throws better than threes. Everyone has a different opinion about the game or perspective of the game that they like or dislike about it.
I know what you are going to say high school hero yada yada but hear me out. If you took a look at my team you would have seen a bunch of skinny white kids who all were about 6 ft tall going up against guys who looked like they could grown men. During warm ups the other teams would be dunking and throwing it off the back board and we would be excited if someone touched the rim when they went up for a layup. If there is one thing that I have learned though is that doesn't matter how talented you are, if you can’t work as a team then you aren't going to be successful. Each game would come up and my team would step up to the mantle.
Michael Jordan once said “I will not let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiasm to win”. This have help people of all ages get through their burdens and do something they love instead of doing some negative. For many people basketball has become more than a game, it’s the way of life. The American game of basketball has traveled now, it’s played by more than 250 million people worldwide.
As our season ended earlier than we wanted my mind filled with memories of everything this team accomplished this season. I thought back to the games we won, the practices we had, and my time with the kids. I looked around at the excitement on display by the team that won, and the dejection on the faces of my team. I looked into the stands to see the band, the cheerleaders, the families, and the friends that all stayed until the end to send the boys home one more time. I walked to the locker room and listened to the coaches and the players say their goodbyes to the 2016 team and challenge the 2017 team.
As a result of laying for the varsity level, I never really realize how your actions on and off the court affect how others viewed me. During basketball, my coach would have the eighth graders practice with the team, to get them ready for the high school. Throughout the team practices I would take things a little personal, by overreacting when the smallest things happened. For example, I would get so much anger built up when the practice teams were unevenly chosen or we started to lose our scrimmage game. I would get a little attitude, and played unnecessarily rough or just started messing up and would not care. However, when I did this, I failed to realize that the younger girls would pick up on my small tantrums, and it would reflect when they played. Watching the girls mimic my actions made me regret how I would act in practices and games. The younger girls would have moments when they lashed out, and took It out on other players.
Attention Getter: Mia Hamm. Peyton Manning. Steve Nash. Here are just a few great athletes that most of us have heard of. But what is it that makes us look up to them? What is it that makes them great? The truth is that sports are only a small part of what makes a person worthy of looking up to.
When someone mentions basketball, what comes to mind? For some it could be their favorite sport. It could be a little child’s dream to play professional basketball. But, for most people, they are reminded of the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. I remember growing up playing basketball in my driveway, counting down the seconds for the last shot. My brother and I would pretend we were one person; that person was Michael Jordan. He has always been one of the biggest icons of all sports. Jordan is the most influential player to ever play the game of basketball. Not only has he influenced the game of basketball itself, but he has influenced society and the city of Chicago in a major way.
“CLANG!!!” The rim rattles as the ferocious athlete jams the ball in. Basketball is game that has been around for 125 years! So many legendary players have come and gone most still around some not. It has evolved over the years in play styles, game styles, and hairstyles. But there’s always that question, who is the greatest? And even though I will never be able to answer that I can narrow it down to the top 5 of each position which will give you the greatest players in each position. Keep in mind these are of course just my personal opinions.
Once there was a little boy who loved to play sports, although he was never naturally talented at them. He was never the fastest, never the strongest, and most definitely never the most coordinated. He liked to play all sorts of sports; basketball, baseball, soccer, football, and track. But one sport stood above all, and that was basketball. Which was ironic because that was probably the sport he was least naturally talented in. That little boy was me.
Can you imagine playing the game of basketball without a three point line? Basketball has constantly changed throughout history and continues to change today. The National Basketball Association has risen in popularity and is now one of America’s more popular sports. Because basketball continues to be a popular sport, a fan should learn about the origin of the NBA, how the game evolved from the late 1940s to the early 2000s, and how the players today impact the way it is played.
Basketball is one of the interesting sports I have always wanted to engage myself; even as a little child. It was a dream come true when I started playing basketball in my high school. Moreover, I was very good in it, and I became the team leader. Of course, I enjoyed every bite of the time I spent playing basketball.
