‘Carpe Diem’ is a Latin phrase meaning “enjoying the pleasures of the moment without worrying about the future”! Days fly past in a wink and we let go many opportunities which could have had changed our lives. We give up on some things until we realize that it is too late to start all over again. This article is especially for 8th graders for whom life has changed drastically with the pressure of starting the three most important years of the school life. The joy of having a free period, chatting endlessly with friends even across the class, joking around with those sitting near you, teasing a friend and watching all those amusing sights in the class; I am sure it troubles you to think that you wouldn’t anymore be able to do these things after ending school. But here we can make our own important choice: refusing to believe that anything will go wrong or accepting everything as it is and try to make the transition easier. We always will have a choice of preserving relationships, creating candid memories which is the best graduation gift anyone can ever have. Why not stop worrying about the future and start living the present? While hard-work is important, it is not the only thing that matters. Living your life to the fullest is just as important. Taking chances, having fun, doing something which you would never even dream of doing; these things form who we are and who we will become in future life just as our performance in examinations and other school activities
