pull back just a little bit so I will not feel overwhelmed when going into my interview(s). We do not talk about religion even though we have the same religion. We are both Christians. To build that relationship, the community could be having a gospel event or an event that builds towards the Christian community that we can go to together. Other people around us could be talking about their Christian views and he could speak on it, that would help me understand his views. We could even have a one on one conversation. My uncle believes that I am still his little niece, so he believes that I will never date. This equals to not influence on my love life. To build this influence he could first see me as a young lady. Then he could talk to me about …show more content…
I love my grandmother. I would love to be just like her when I grow up. She has a peaceful mindset. She thinks before she speaks and her words are like a poem. She gives great advice and is a big influence on my religion. My grandmother does not have a great relationship with my dad even though that is her son. She sometimes blames herself for me and my father not having a great relationship. I wish she did not because is it not her fault, but my fathers. If there was a support group that she could go to for taking someone else blame, I would take her to it. It is like her eyes are blinded on that issue. She tries hard to communicate with my extended family. She believes that my family is her family no matter what. To build that relationship, she could go to some of the events that my extended family has. She could even get my extended family numbers and talk to them over the phone. She has no relationship with my stepfather and she wishes she did not have a relationship with my stepmother. My grandmother does not have a relationship with my stepfather because they do not see each other. The reason for that is because I drive now so they do not see each other. When they do see

Christian faith and Ethos is the class I am taking this term. The professor 's name is Reverend Leroy Leach Jr. The class is about God, the creation, and how to read the Holy Bible.
I was very surprised at a few facets as I ventured my way through these job descriptions. One of the first things I noticed is how few full time positions there were on this list. I had always figured a church position would be a full time job because that is the kind of church I grew up in. However, to see that a worship pastor’s position was only a 10 hour a week commitment was quite surprising, but that makes sense in a smaller church. Thus, it has caused me to think about new opportunities for other part time work outside of the church. I suppose I’ve never really thought of a back up plan because I was so sure I would be in a full time pastor position.
In recent decades, there has been a dramatic transformation in religious practices within the Latin American community. Many Latin Americans are shifting away from the traditional Catholic church and are finding their religious identity within the Pentecostal religion. The Pentecostal church focuses heavily on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is central to how Pentecostals live and conduct their daily activities, and is a power who speaks, defines, directs and frees individuals (Gabaitse, 2015). For this paper, I decided to interview my friend Janet who identifies as a Puerto Rican Pentecostal women.
Thanks Dr. Mahan for your comments and question. To answer your question, the church values did line up with the members values. However, the traditional aspect of the church is somehow different because some members believe in traditional worship where others are hoping to move to more Contemporal style of worship. Yes, it seems like the leadership team has been ready for change for a long time and they are still working toward transitioning certain activities in the church. From what I gather in the interview process from the five members, it appears that majority of them believe that God is working in the lives of their children and members in the church through the word of God.
I sat down with Pastor Mark to talk about his philosophy of ministry, the office of the pastor, and leadership in the context of the local church in the process I learned much more than I expected. The following will reflect upon my interview it Pastor Mark to the end of
To begin, I want to introduce the people I chose to interview. For the grandparent generation, I chose to speak with my grandmother. Her name is Marie and her age is about the mid-seventies. She was born and raised strict Roman Catholic. Next I interviewed a close friend of mine and the parent of my best friend, her name is Lynne. Lynne is in her late fifties/ earlier sixties, but she fits the parent category because she is like another mother to me. Lynne is a nondenominational Christian. The third person I spoke with was my best friend, and Lynne’s daughter, Allie. Allie is twenty eight years old so she is between categories, but even though Allie was raised in a Christian household she has chosen to be an atheist. She fits the category of a person from another religion. Lastly I interviewed my brother Frank, who is part of my generation because he is nineteen. He was also raised Roman Catholic, but has a very different outlook from my grandmother, due to being from a very opinionated and open-minded generation. Everyone was interviewed at separate times so no one’s opinions could influence another’s.
I interviewed my companion and minister Jenifer Amira Jackson. What do you believe is the most central part of your religion? The most key part of the Christian confidence is that God made the world and He made us in His picture to resemble Him. Be that as it may, we trespassed thus somebody needed to pay for our wrongdoings, since God is simple. In this manner, God sent His child Jesus who was flawless and perfect, to bite the dust on a cross for us. In the event that we trust this is valid, at that point we can be spared and be immaculate and we can have the unceasing life. That in itself is the most key angle and is fundamentally what Christianity is about. What do you need others to think about your religion? I need others to realize that
I was four years old in 1964, and had grown accustomed to my weekly childhood routine. Like any day in church, I situated myself in, the warmth of the sunlight streaming from the stained glass window, at the end of our habitual pew. Then, on the morning of the First Sunday of Advent, something jarring happened at the moment the mass began. On any other Sunday in the past, the priest and altar boys would enter the rear of the church in silence, but now the whole church was singing verses of a processional hymn. Nothing prepared me for what came next; Monsieur faced the crowd and spoke in English for the first time and said “The Lord be with you”, and expected us all to respond, “And also with you”.
My next question for pastor was more personal. I wanted to know more of how he had to deal with himself. I asked him what his biggest problem he had with himself. His answer seemed to surround pride. He spoke that many young pastors in his time wanted to prove that they knew more than the next.
She never once called me Avery or remembered what my sisters name was. I tried not to let it bother me but it was sad seeing someone I cared about slowly drifting away. After a few minutes pass, I decide to sit down by her feet so that my mom could talk to her for a little bit. My sister said about two words the whole time we were there which made me mad because she was acting like she didn't even care about seeing our grandma.
Muslims do believe that Jesus Christ did exist and he was the son of Virgin Mary. Unlike Christians, they do not believe that Jesus died and they do not believe in the resurrection. Virgin Mary was a very important figure for both Christianity and Islam. Christians, believe she was the mother of Jesus while Muslims consider Mary as the the best woman God ever created whom is free of all sins. Both religions require daily prayer and believe in some of the important figures though they have different perception of them.
My aunt had been an important person in my life since I was born. She helped me a lot through rough times and always was there if I needed anything. I could always remember the big family parties we had and she would give me money for a present. She was always nice to me and was a big part in my success at anything I was doing. I even used to call her 2nd mom sometimes.
I have a lot of cousins; therefore I am not the only grandchild for my grandparents. However, I was the only one that was raised by my grandparents. They spent the most of their times on me compared to my other cousins. For example, I slept with my grandma when I was young. Because of my body was weak, and my hands and feet usually cool all night, my grandma always held my hands and feet to make my body warm. She was told me fairy-tales or real stories at night when I was sick, because she wanted me to feel better. When I was little girl, on the family trip, grandpa always carried me, because he didn’t want me to walk too long. Living without the parent, it made me sad but my grandparents given too much love on
Growing up with such admirable as my grandmother, I was able to develop many of her qualities. Not only did I develop her eagerness to learn but to also grasp that idea and put it into use in the real world. Everything in my grandmother is special: the way she dresses, the way she speaks, the way she behaves, the way she moves, etc. Sometimes, I just think that it could be great if I could at least be half of what she is.
