ADRE 6793 Case Study Identifying information The client presents as well groomed middle age female and is oriented to time, person, place. Upon starting the conversation the client stated, “I am ready to get clean and find another job”. The client possesses strong internal motivation to get a job and be financially independent. Her affect appears normal and appropriate to the conversation matter. She is cooperative with the intake process and rapport is easily established. Family History: Client is a 40 year old and identifies as an African American female. She currently resides in Greenville, North Carolina with her husband to whom she has been married to for nine years. She now reports that she has not used marijuana in the last two weeks. She also reports frequent alcohol use, about 3-4 days out of the week, and reports drinking 5-6 drinks at a time. She denies any history of withdrawal symptoms but admits that she has never stopped drinking for an extended period of time. She does report being able to drink more than she used to and has admitted to having one “blackout” in the past. Client reports that she had a DUI at the age of 22.
