Recommended: Important of formal education for building a successful career

What kind of college should a student go? Is college even necessary to go? These are the questions I should be considering while I think about my future. It seemed like that the time to decide the future plan was in the far future. However, time to think about my detailed future plans have now arrived. After I read many articles and do many research, I think going to 4 year college or university would fit best for me.

There are many reasons why I want to go directly to 4 year college/ university right after I graduate. First reason is that 2 year college is not enough time for me to learn about all of the informations for major. Since, the major I want, which is mass communication and technical visual arts, includes a lot of specialized knowledges, 2 year college is just not enough time to learn all of them. Also, it is really hard to even pick a major in 2 years. …show more content…

Although, college degrees are not required for the careers I want, which is a TV show producer or concert director, most of the people in that field went to the high ranked universities, such as Stanford or Princeton. In modern days, your educational level or degrees become your power to compete with other people who wants to go to that same field. That means that the ranking of the school actually matters, because that will eventually become your strength when competing with other people. For example, if two people, one the graduate of University of Princeton and one the graduate of the community college, applied to a company, who would you hire? You would hire the one who is the graduate of University of Princeton. That is a very depressing reality. But that’s how it is in modern
