Do the residents at Jester West, 3rd Floor acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff?
*Acknowledge- the act of making eye contact and making a friendly gesture with the other party.

2. Hypothesis :
~Residents of Jester West, 3rd Floor do acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff.
~Residents of Jester West, 3rd Floor do not acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff.
~Residents of Jester West, 3rd Floor do not see the maintenance staff.

3. Background and Rationale The reasoning behind my interest in conducting this experiment is to explore the degree in which the maintenance staff is appreciated. Appreciation doesn't have to do with a paycheck or salary, sometimes it has to do with personal gratitude. I will survey 50 students in the Jester West Dormitory on the third floor in the morning between the hours of 8am and 9am, when most of the residents are awake. I will create an online survey and survey people through the means of technology. On the top of the screen there will be the following question: Do you as a resident of Jester West (3rd floor) acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff? There will then be the three following choices to answer this given question: 1) Yes, I acknowledge the maintenance staff 2) No, I do not acknowledge the maintenance staff 3) I do not see the maintenance staff. After all the data has been collected, I will tally up the number of students within each of those categories, divide it by 50 (the total number of students surveyed) and convert my findings into percentages.
