Question:
Do the residents at Jester West, 3rd Floor acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff?
*Acknowledge- the act of making eye contact and making a friendly gesture with the other party.
2. Hypothesis :
~Residents of Jester West, 3rd Floor do acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff.
~Residents of Jester West, 3rd Floor do not acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff.
~Residents of Jester West, 3rd Floor do not see the maintenance staff.
3. Background and Rationale The reasoning behind my interest in conducting this experiment is to explore the degree in which the maintenance staff is appreciated. Appreciation doesn't have to do with a paycheck or salary, sometimes it has to do with personal gratitude. A simple, friendly gesture is a motion that truly makes another person feel appreciated and I wanted to test how many college students pay attention to

I will survey 50 students in the Jester West Dormitory on the third floor in the morning between the hours of 8am and 9am, when most of the residents are awake. I will create an online survey and survey people through the means of technology. On the top of the screen there will be the following question: Do you as a resident of Jester West (3rd floor) acknowledge the hall’s maintenance staff? There will then be the three following choices to answer this given question: 1) Yes, I acknowledge the maintenance staff 2) No, I do not acknowledge the maintenance staff 3) I do not see the maintenance staff. After all the data has been collected, I will tally up the number of students within each of those categories, divide it by 50 (the total number of students surveyed) and convert my findings into percentages. These percentages will allow me to clearly analyze my data by comparing and contrasting the different hypotheses within one set of data. which enables there to be a clear comparison between the different
This first question is the easy question and i made my mind on what methods i should pick. I pick a convenience methods even despite the flaws of creating a bias in result of an incompleted conclusion and this convenience methods also it may not represent the views of others student. But the methods itself is very lazy but the way to get people to do the survey by being up in their face and surveying two hunderd out of five thousand student that come to the liberty, really
An investigation of 150 randomly selected local restaurants concluded that 42% of local restaurants have serious health code violations. Is this a population or a sample; explain your answer.
Wood types differ considerably in properties such as color, density, and hardness, making timber a resource that is valuable in a wide variety of contexts. Each of the samples of commonly used woods shown here has distinctive characteristics. Mahogany is a tropical tree prized for its heavy, strong, easily worked wood. Hickory is a tough, hard wood used for tool handles, furniture, and smoke wood for meat. Instrument makers favor the strong, richly colored wood of the cherry tree. Yew is strong, fine-grained wood used for cabinetmaking and archery bows. Like mahogany, the wood of the iroko is resistant to both rot and insects and bears the "interlocked" grain of many tropical trees. Oak is one of the world's most durable woods. It is used in barrel-making, veneers, and flooring....
There are seventy seven workers in the maintenance department, and the team chose every eleventh person on the payroll to do the survey. The results from the survey from the seven people selected all put strongly disagree to having the best working tools, and I have all of the equipment needed to do the best job possible. The other questions varied from agree to strongly agree with I know what is expected of me at work, I have received recognition in the past five days, and I feel someone cares about my success. From the results of the survey the management aspect did not seem to be the issue, however the equipment did have the most negative answers.
obtain adequate results for my survey, I recruited four classmates and divided the 18 question
The first question asked on the survey is do you have a roommate. I found out that 8 out of 10 people that took the survey have a roommate. Out of the four women that took the survey, one out of three did not have a roommate. The men asked his question only 1 did not have a roommate. The second question asked is where you stay; referring to which dorm, you stay, in Emory or Holt. The survey found out that it was an even split five people stayed in Emory and five people stayed in Holt. The six men asked the question five of them stayed in Emory and one stayed in Holt. All women stayed in Holt. Next question was did you have cable. Eight out of ten people did not have cable, no women have cable and only two of the six men have cable. The four question asked on the survey on campus housing is, do you have an air condition unit. The women are two women have A/C and the other two do not have A/C. The men its five have A/C. and one do not. Seven out of ten people with A/C. The next question is for males only; it is where you would prefer to stay Emory or Holt. In this write up I will discuss the question; how has the woodworking trade changed over the years? The art of woodworking has been around for thousands of years and has only grown larger and more advanced, but the basics and finished pieces have all relatively stayed the same. My research will date back to ancient Egyptian times and continue through to present day talking about: types of wood working, styles and techniques, and technology enhancements.
In 1996, Arctic Timber Engineered Woods Division, a highly mature business unit, faced a market downturn and began losing millions of dollars each month. Before becoming the President of the Engineered Woods Division, Bjorn Gustavsson had already determined that the company could not sustain its commodity business and was not aligned with the new direction devised by Peter Hammarskjöld, the CEO of Arctic Timber. According to Gustavsson, in order to prosper in a more challenging market environment, developing a specialty business was the only viable approach. The goal was to shift 50% of its commodity business into undetermined specialty by 2000. However, the Division had shifted only 10% of its business to specialty products by 1997.
The research methods that I used for this paper were surveys, interviews and observations. I performed a survey on ten college students in which I asked various yes and no questions and ones with various multiple-choice answers. Do you have a meal ...

The environmental performance of timber has many advantages as a potential mass construction material. With focus on the environment and carbon emissions, building green has an increased importance in construction and will be ever so important in the future with sustainability at the forefront of any design. Timber products possess a number of environmental characteristics that allow it to be considered a renewable and sustainable product. CO2 is a leading indicator of global warming and when properly managed and harvested, trees remove carbon dioxide from the air by converting this gas into carbohydrates and water providing oxygen as a byproduct (Bland, 2005).
Swietenia macrophylla and S. humilis are referred to as Mahogany, a tropical evergreen or deciduous tree that can attain heights of 150 feet. Mahogany is a member of the Meliaceae, which includes other trees with notable wood for cabinet making. Swietenia macrophylla is world renowned for its beautifully grained, hard, red-brown wood. It has been harvested since 1500 A.D. for its wood, with large branches being in higher demand than the trunk. This is due to the closeness of the grain in the branch's wood. Mahogany is used for furniture, fixtures, musical instruments, millwork, cars, ships, boats, caskets, airplanes, foundry patterns, veneer, and plywood (Hill, 1952).
