The knowledge gained in college acts similar to a back bone for support. The more knowledge and experience, results in better support, and something to fall back on. The importance of college is shown in Kalogrides and Grodsky’s article “Something to Fall Back On: Community Colleges as a Safety Net.” They reported that “the share of high school graduates enrolling in college within two years of completing high school has risen substantially over the past 30 years… to almost 70 percent in the class of 2005” (853). This means that most students today see the benefit of college even though they might not know what career they are striving for yet. Looking at colleges it is amazing to see some of the creativity and inventions that were thought of by students. The article “11 Inventions by College Students Are Super Impressive” highlight a few of the many inventions created by college students. One of the inventions is extraordinary in the military field. “John Hopkins biomedical engineering students have developed an injectable foam system which stops severe bleeding” (“11 Inventions” Par. 2). This amazing invention is helping saves many soldiers that otherwise might have bled out. Another invention that was great is made by Boyan Slat. He claims “He could rid the ocean of this pollution in five years” (“11 Inventions” Par. 5). Slat’s invention is compiled of floating blooms that pull in all the plastic and move it to other existing plastic. The article continues on with inventions such as, 3D glasses, 3D printers, and motorized skateboards (“11 Inventions” Par. 1, 3, 11). All the inventions were brought up with a mind of creativeness and the knowledge of college students.
