When an individual unintentionally enters a room full of an unfamiliar crowd, he or she is bound to be embarrassed, but also have an apprehensive sensation of how others in that room will distinguish them. A situation like that establishes a moment in which that person realizes that all eyes are gaping at that individual. Just when that person could consider forgetting what just happened, unfortunately judgments start circulating among the unfamiliar crowd. As most people know, judgments are based off of a person’s appearance, race, religion, or a quality that doesn’t appeal to the person analyzing them. Elderly folks are eminently mature and have the finest instinct about what is right and wrong though It’s challenging to change someone’s point of view in a matter like this. When such injustice takes place, it de-motivates senior workers from their work. In an article over Ageists by Vincent J Roscigno, he states facts about different views on older Americans in general and in workplaces such as, “most of the population consists of biases and preconceptions, and the accused are unashamed in their views of older Americans. Those who believe that younger employees have much more value than senior employees are inserting a strong assumption based on their age. “Ageist attitudes and discrimination is what results in lower levels of overall organizational commitment to older workers, and a “push” out of a particular workplace.” Just because of an older employee’s depiction, such unfairness circulates in workplaces which cause false impressions of older …show more content…

Women get typecasted based on varied issues, which causes many to think why females are the only ones being addressed. One stereotype that challenged assumptions of many is the stereotype of how much men and women like to speak (“Stereotypes Against Women”). A great number of people think women are more excessively communicative than men. The stereotype is so pervasive that it is said men supposedly speak about 7,000 words per day while women speak about 45,000 words per day (“Stereotypes Against Women”). Although this is just an estimate of how much speaking is done by both the genders, this wasn’t even near as to what the actual result was when microphones were put on them to record how much they communicate throughout the day. “The stereotype was proven inaccurate as both men and women speak about 17,000 words per day” (“Stereotypes Against Women”).
