Smoking is the inhalation of smoke from burning tobacco. The most common method of smoking today is through cigarettes however other smoking forms include cigars, pipes, bidis, hookahs, vaporizers and bongs. Smoking is commonly practiced for recreational drug use, spiritual enlightenment and or to induce trances. It was estimated that in 2011 more than 200,000 children from age 11 – 15 started smoking and 10 million adults smoke cigarettes in Great Britain – 22% adult men and 19% adult women.

Cigarettes approximately contain 600 ingredients which are all harmful to health. They contain acetone (nail polish remover), acetic acid (hair dye), ammonia (household cleaner), arsenic (rat poison), benzene (rubber cement), butane (lighter fluid), cadmium (battery acid), carbon monoxide (car exhaust fumes), etc. 50% of all chemicals in cigarettes are cancer forming and poisonous. Smoking is the biggest cause of death and illness in the US resulting in almost 100,000 deaths every year. It also increases your risk of developing fatal health problems.
