As many future mothers would do anything to protect their children and keep them safe, some continue to put their life first. Not every woman believes in precautions for their children. For example, smoking during pregnancy must stop due to harmful effects on the fetus’s development. Someone who puts their child at health risks should not be able to support the child in any circumstance. Children should not undergo any type of toxic chemical involvement throughout their early stage life. Future mother’s knowingly smoke cigarettes or other smoke choices while being pregnant. Finding one good reason for putting a child in life or death situations will never suit for achievement. The mother of a fetus may put herself in life or death risk while smoking cigarettes during pregnancy. Smoking during pregnancy can lead to placental abruption, stillbirths, preterm birth, and heart conditions (Lurie et al, 2014). If a mother cannot take care of her own body health, then she will not take care of a child’s health. Ultimately, a mother’s decision of what to do during pregnancy will lead to the health risk or effects on her child. Studies have concluded that smoking leads to preterm births. Preterm births define as births before the 37-week gestation period for a fetus. When a preterm birth arrives, health problems instantly remain consequently. All types of smokes whether passively or second hand smoke can affect the fetus tremendously (Cui et al, 2016).
