Food or addiction! Food is any substance used by living beings to help their body produce energy, maintain life, and stimulate growth. For humans food resources are usually plants and animals. These resources have been used by mankind from when humans first walked on earth and are still being used by them. Food is what has helped humans survive all these years. It has allowed our minds to grow significantly and efficiently in almost all aspects of our lives. These resources have not only helped us grow physically but are also what protect us from different matters that may cause danger to our bodies. Plants and animals are used to create new medications that help cure millions of people all around the world, which makes food an important part of today’s medical professions as well. Even though most of the foods we eat today are mixtures of both plants and animals organs, there are still those who argue that meat should not be a significant part of our daily diet. To a large extent the over use of meat is endangering human lives because this food source pollutes the air; it affects our health, and it is not a sustainable food source.
The first reason why meat is not a good food source is its effect on the environment. All living beings have an effect of whatsoever whether it’s directly or indirectly. Plants do have a certain amount of negative impact, but it is overall less harmful than the affect animals have on the environment. Animals use most the energy sources (food) producing a huge amount of waste. Although humans produce nearly more than half of the waste animals produce still they have different places for their waste to be removed. Meat itself is not a very sustainable food source. It is not guaranteed that we would always have the same meat forever. The reason to that is the reduction of forests and plants. Every year there are more forests burnt down to make room for more pastures, and more animals. There are plants that humans consider as a part of their own diet, but not to forget these resources are used by all animals that produce meat for humans. From the first day humans were born they stored food in two way huntting and agriculture. They are using almost the same method and ideas they used thousands of years ago.
