Going into BUAD 302, Communication Strategy in Business, I was unsure about what to expect in terms of class content. I, like I am sure you do, wondered how complex communication could be since we find ourselves communicating everyday whether it be professionally with colleagues, academically with professors, or casually with friends and family. However, BUAD 302 teaches you that communication means so much more than just how you speak. BUAD 302 teaches you about non-verbal communication, such as resumes and cover letters, something that is often overlooked, yet ultimately so important. Non-verbal communication is what provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate your verbal communication skills in an interview, or in the workplace one you have secured that position you always wanted. In this class I learned about the different types of communication and this helped me to achieve the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the semester. Internships are not just something I am doing for experience anymore, but are a necessity in today’s extremely competitive job market. But everyone is doing internships, so you still need something to set you apart and to get you on an employer’s radar. This is where your resume and cover letter, the non-verbal skills, come into play. Prior to taking this class I had made a resume and cover letter for internship applications, but I never realized how much the documents formatting and wording mattered, I thought it was just the substance of what you did. These forms of non-verbal communication can be the difference between if your resume is just tossed aside, or is put in the pile of applicants to truly be

The memory of meeting my wife, dating and preparing for marriage stands as an authentic representation of interpersonal relational communications. Similarities in familial experience, mindset and beliefs at the time of our meeting served as a benchmark for coordinated management of meaning. At the age of 23, my overall perspective on relationships changed from desiring casual dating to the pursuit of a partner in life. Concurrently, an 18 year old young lady named Takiyah had the same objective in mind. Mutual cognitive dissonance regarding romantic relationships and corresponding actions resulted in the joining of two people through successful communications processes. The journey from acquaintance to friend, lover, and partner was paved
When studying Business or other majors in most universities in the United States, every student must endure a recurring theme eventually. In some way, shape, or form every student is exposed to at least one Communication class as a general requirement. Most students ignore the value in these lessons due to the ignorant belief that the information is too obvious or unrelated to their career. Working in a demanding healthcare environment as an on-going student can be rather challenging & stressful. To achieve success and satisfaction, various strategies are required to be on board. Effective communication is an essential part of constructing good staff-patient and staff-colleague relationships particularly in intricate situations (O’Toole, 2008). In circumstances where imaging-services are performed on patients suffering from multi-traumatic injuries, the requirement to perform under-pressure along with providing the best possible service to our clients and their family can be quite difficult to accomplish. Mental, emotional and physical exhaustion can occur following involvement in a demanding procedure leading to work-related stress (Ehrlich & Coakes, 2013). This essay will present a thorough self-reflection of a similar event I encountered in the clinical-workplace and analysing of my management to the situation. This will be presented by applying the Gibbs-(1988) Model of Reflection (Appendix A) which I believe is the most effective in reflecting my experience, it enables me to identify patterns related to my management of the situation and assists me to make decisions for tackling such circumstances in the future.
I strongly believe that the class, HD341 Communication for Empowerment fulfill my goals in taking this class because it is giving me many opportunities to make connection with other classmates. Therefore, verbal communication is an area I frequently use in class to communicate with my peers as well as my professor. I also have active listening my classmate’s stories and have critical thinking to giving feedbacks to them.

The instructor gave opportunity to the students to deliver their input related to exam method, because this class was so compact, since we met only 12 times for 6 weeks. He gave the students some books for free to read. In the educational arena there are many times when one, especially someone in a place of leadership like a principal, must have important conversations with staff. Lots of people thinks that they know themselves very well; they have a right way of communication, they know how to listen and respond to others, even emotional intelligence. The goal of my speech is to inspire the listeners to use the skills being taught at TGI to communicate effectively within their workplace. Specifically, I will aim to present the listeners with relatable examples in which I was able to apply a tool I learned at TGI to communicate effectively, and ultimately gain the support of a team member.

As an Eastern Michigan University student, I originally chose to take Interpersonal Communication to fill my general education requirements. However, sitting in the lectures and group sessions for the past few weeks made me realize theirs is more meaning to this class than just a few credits.
