Communication can be a difficult process. The way communication is presented and received plays a vital part in the whole communication process. To better understand the communication process the models used in the process have been broken down into eight components. In the following paragraph each of the eight components of the communication situation will be explained. The first of the eight components of the communication situation is source. The source is the creator that sends the message. The source is the expected to be knowledgeable about the subject since the source is bringing awareness to the new information. The source displays confidence in their message through their attire, their enthusiasm, and body language. First the source decides what they want to say and how to say it. The message is the meaning presented by the source to the audience. The meaning is put together with grammar and organization. The message is also the way the words are presented, they way they are said, the body language used, the tone of voice and with your appearance. In addition, the message my be the environment and setting you present in and the noise that may make your message hard to hear or see (McLean, 2003). . Channel is the next component. Channel is the way in which a message or messages travel between source and receiver. Voice, dress, and body language represent the channel of the message to the audience (McLean, 2003). . The receiver is the next of the eight components. The receiver interprets the message from the source in all aspects. A receiver listens, sees, touches and smells or tastes to receive a message. When the source is sending their message and perceiving a response the receiver is doing the same at the same time. This represents why and how communication is always changing (McLean, 2003).
