The township of Wayne has grown throughout the years and adapted to the challenges presented. However, the AvalonBay development plans to completely change Wayne negatively. The “U.S Newswire”, “AvalonBay in Wayne” and “Edgewater fire” all describe the poor history AvalonBay had in other towns and as a company. It 's poor construction method and unsafe working conditions have created destruction in other towns and now plan to make a move into Wayne, so I say go away AvalonBay.

Workers of the company using a blowtorch at the job site started it and failing to call the fire department immediately after a flame was presented. Though, this doesn’t come to a surprise as AvalonBay has a history of unsafe working conditions throughout their job sites. Leaving a trail of worker safety violations, there may be issues with the current proposal to build in Wayne. This issue negatively represents this company as developments found that “AvalonBay and its recurrent contractors and subcontractors have been cited for at least 38 safety violations” (“Unsafe Working Conditions”). Violations that also put their workers at risk as one AvalonBay employee died after falling 48 feet down an elevator shaft. If this company fails to keep their own employees safe and violate many safety issues, then what other violations may they encounter if they build in Wayne. This company has to keep the workers safe, the same workers who build their projects and make development possible. As illustrated in “Unsafe Working Conditions” Hector Figueroa, sectary-treasure of 32BJ SEIU states "AvalonBay 's development strategy has put workers ' safety at risk"(qtd in “Unsafe Working Conditions). Clearly this company demonstrates poor work ethics and can be to blame for the Edgewater fire. The Beverly Hills Supper Club was a popular nightclub located in Southgate, Campbell County, Kentucky in the greater Cincinnati area. It was located on a hill less than 1000 ft. from the highway on seventeen acres of land just three miles from downtown Cincinnati (Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire D-1). It has since become a case study for its numerous code violations and the behavior of the fire from ignition to building collapse. The shirtWaist Factory was once a fire trap and killed many of people with it when the Triangle Factory Fire happened. In interviews from survivors of the fire were asked questions about why the fire started and why it couldn't be prevented apparently most of the fire safety gear was faulty and did not work. The fire could have been easily prevented if the fire hose could have worked to put out the start of the fire and it would have not spread.

Detroit is a story of a once flourishing city that has been on a long downslide for decades. There are miles of unoccupied homes and buildings, and crimes and unemployment are at an all-time high. Many aspects of the city are breaking down, including the school system. The Detroit Public School System has lost over eighty thousand students due to high enrollment in charter schools, the large economic decline, and the departure of residents. For many years no one has taken responsibility for the public school system. However, for Detroit to rise again, it is necessary for someone to take responsibility, make a plan, and make sure that children are safe, well cared for, and are receiving a high quality education when going to school each day. In 2016, schools are low-performing with poor test scores, are falling apart, and teachers and parents have decided to take a stand.

My answer to the naysayers who think it’s rather impossible to re-build Detroit’s Neighborhoods and bring change to the city is to stop wasting money in other places and worry about the places within your own reach how can we fix other places problems outside the US without even fixing home base first. To further educate, I will discuss different perspectives, the cost of educating a AIG student and the education that is required to teach the student. The purpose of the AIG program is not to make the more work for the student but to go deeper into the subject of the specialization.
