There are those individuals who one can trust very easily, as there are individuals where trust is very hard to come by. I was fortunate enough to have that ability to earn individuals’ trust easily; as it is one of my greatest attributes, being trustworthy. Human beings are sentient beings who rely upon their instincts very little in today’s society, yet it still plays a major part of how they interact with other individuals and form groups. This fundamental instinct has helped many people with their choices, and even on whom I associate myself with as close friends or acquaintances. Everyone is different; people have their own special quirks and qualities that make them individuals. These different qualities have different methods of gaining trust of others, for example, a very dear friend of mine is the type to shut his self away from the world in order to deal with heartache and pain. When he is in this state, he refuses to talk to anyone but those he trusts; many people are just like him, and with few people to turn to, he searches for me in order to seek solace in his time of need. This requires gaining the trust of another as the foundation of trust is needed for bonds like this to be irreplaceable. Another example is more about how I have been able to mend the trust of others with those who have accidentally or unintentionally ruined the trust with one another. This happens occasionally dues to miscommunication between both parties, the fix is a clarified version of what had happened, and what they meant to say or do instead of what actually happened. That is where they need a trusted and honest person to decipher what happened, and with the people, I surround myself with, I am the individual who is trustworthy enough to be there when they absolutely need someone. The sociological imagination uses the relations created throughout the world to study objectively the effects on people; this is how trust works as well. Being trustworthy allows one to see the different bonds and build upon the trust, however it also allows one to see the crumbling status of another bond build poorly upon trust. The social world does have an impact, a severe impact, on trust and trust related issues. The events of terrorism causes fear and mistrust within people of a country under attack, this in effect is a social event that causes a barrage of personal troubles that are misidentified and often result in the loss of personal connections that had once been of some significance. Another example would be with education, due to the constant loss of financial aid students have grown to mistrust the government which in turn causes them to have very little trust with the school system, which trickles down into their personal life and creates more mistrust with themselves in believing that they were not good enough to receive the aid they so desperately needed (Ballantine et al, 2016).
