Why is there hunger when the world produces ten percent more food than needed to sustain our hunger? There should be enough food to feed the entire global population of seven billion people. And it is estimated that one in every seven people around the world is still hungry up to this date. So why does hunger exist when we are capable of producing more food to provide each and every one of us? What are the causes of the world hunger?

There are many different reasons why we are dealing with hunger. Poverty, agriculture, infrastructure, natural disasters, and war and conflicts are the top four causes of world hunger. Underdeveloped countries count for 98 percent of the world’s hunger.

Hunger is usually passed down from mother to infants and there are 17 million children born underweight due to their mothers being underweight. When the mother is malnourished during her pregnancy, the baby is usually born malnourished also. Women are said to be more malnourished than men, and about sixty percent of those experiencing world hunger is women, which is twenty percent more than men.

In the developing countries, there is one in every six infants that is born with a low birth weight. Also, poor nutrition causes almost half of the mortalities in children under five. Three million children each year die because of poor nutrition. It is estimated that every ten seconds a child dies due to hunger related diseases.

Global perspective

Poverty is one of the major factors of hunger. Until now, there are many little children and parents suffering from poverty. Moreover, not a lot is being done to reduce or stop poverty. ... edible. What we can do to at home is that finish all the foods that is bought, so it won’t get expired.

The information that I found out while researching made me feel bad for the people who couldn't afford food and is experiencing hunger and malnutrition. They suffer everyday and dies eventually; it is a very heart breaking news for each and everyone of us. Based on what I read, I don't think there is any biased, and it is pretty much reliable.
