A Dinner Party to Remember
On October 16th, 2017, 3 of the world’s most prominent authors have travel through time to have an amazing dinner party. All participants have been requested to wear their most elegant attire. Invited this formal event are the following guest: Jonathan Swift, Mary Wollstonecraft, Sor Juana Indes de La Cruz, and Lynn Hoke. The dinner party will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Augusta Georgia. Upon arrival guest met in the hotel lobby at approximately 7:15pm, where they will be served wine.

From then on conversations started to flourish. But before any serious conversation started, their host, Pamela Smith go things started. She proceeded to state, “To begin, I would like to thank you all you for making the trip to 2017 to have this unforgettable dinner party. I hope time travel did not treat you guys too bad. Now, for those who are unaware, my name is Pamela Smith and I am your host for tonight.”. She proceeds to have each guess introduce themselves. The guess to start everything off is Lynn Hoke. “ Well I am glad I could be with all of you tonight, my name is Lynn Hoke and I’m a English professor at East Georgia College. I could not be more honored to be a room with so many wonderful writers. I studied and taught many of you alls work for many years.” As she finishes her introduction, Jonathan Swift prepares himself to be next. When Swift begins to rise he brushes off his coat, stands tall and then begins. “I am honored that you teach my work, it truly humbles me. My name is Jonathan Swift, I’m from Dublin, Ireland 1730. On a broad aspect I could be considered a writer but I am satirist. I have written the novel A Tale of a Tub (1704), Gulliver’s Travels (1726), and “A Modest Proposal” (1729). Wollstonecraft states “Beautiful timing on the food” Ms. Smith replies “Thank you but after all it is a dinner party, and it wouldn’t be much without the food.” De La Cruz replies “That is a valid point. Everything looks delicious.” The guesses are presented with a full dish of haricot beans, roasted chicken and steaming side of rice. As the guess commence to consume their meal Mr. Swift states, “There would not be any children cooked into this meal, now is there?”. The room became silent to the point where it was possible to hear a pin drop. Then Professor Hoke began to laugh a hardy laugh and then say “I see what you did there Mr. Swift, unfortunately we are no longer in an 18th century Ireland anymore.
