Application Essays (Each response should be between 200-400 words.) 1. Why do you want to study abroad with the TKC Florence Summer Study Program? My desire to go to Florence can be summed up in Hebrews 13:21, “Equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” I desire to go to Florence and be equipped for the call God has place on my life. I was bored by history when I was fourteen years old; then I happen to surrender my life to Christ that year. I thought, “Well, I can finish studying if I go to sleep now and wake up at 2:00 A.M.”. I acted on these thoughts, but performed poorly on my freshmen midterms and found myself on my knees crying out to God to receive his forgiveness for my biggest weakness, procrastination. My number one challenge would not be traveling, homesickness,too much luggage, or interesting new bathrooms, but it will probably be time managing my studies. Though my challenge of time management is real, my God is strong. After midterms week, God led my professor, Dr. Mueller, to help me with time management in order to spend more time studying (being discipled) rather than discipling, so I am able to more make disciples in due season. To prepare for the trip, I will do previous studies on the places and the information we will learn that I might retain and have time to breathe and enjoy learning while I am there. Furthermore, my challenge is procrastination, but with the assistance of God, I will strive to manage my schedule ahead of time and be enabled to soak in the knowledge during the four weeks in Italy. 3.
