From what I know about sociology and the study of human social behavior, I am hopeful America will be different in the year 2030 although not convinced. America is such a divided country presently, I believe we will either come back together for the common good of the people or the country will continue to divide further and a weaker America will emerge by 2030. I choose to believe America will come together once again to be a solid and prosperous country full of strong and proud people. I believe the country will still be made up of people born in America and those who immigrate and assimilate into the country. We will continue to be made up of diverse individuals. Blended families will most likely be the most common type of family unit in America. Families may consist of same-sex couples who adopt children. Family may mean single parents who live together under the same house in order to pool resources but live separately within the house. Families may grow to represent people who are connected in other ways or have a common interest but pool resources in order to conserve or preserve their standards. Medical advances to treat older people will top the new discoveries in health care along with technology to diagnose disease and personalize medicine. Aging Americans want to retire and have a high standard of life, this will be made possible through healthy living including access to activities, both physical and mental as well as healthy foods potentially designed to maintain function and virility. Americans potentially will have access to vaccines that eliminate major diseases, therefore it is probable people will live even longer and be fully active into later
