The article I selected is, “Surgery should be used to treat type 2 diabetes, say international experts”. According to S. Boseley the author of this article, “In 1979, there were approaching 100 million people worldwide with diabetes. Last year that had risen to 422 million, although the figure was probably an underestimate. Global obesity had fueled It (Boseley, S. 2016)”. There are two type of diabetes, “ type 1 diabetes, which is usually genetic and found in younger people amounted to only 5-10% of the total of the 422 million ( Boseley, S. 2016)”. And type 2 diabetes are connected to obesity amount to the over the reminder of 422 million (Boseley, S. 2016)”. According to the class textbook, “Type 2 diabetes also related to inheritance pattern of human sing-gene which affects about 1 in 200 people with diabetes (Starr, C, Evers, C, Lisa, 2013)”. In which Inheritance gene transmission of DNA to offspring (Starr, C, Evers, C, Lisa, 2013), so it can be trace to family history and ethnicity. Just like “the genetic disorder of asthma, obesity, cancer, heart disease, and multiple sclerosis (Starr, C, Evers, C, Lisa, 2013)".
To understand Type 2 diabetes, “it is important to first understand the normal process by which food is broken down and used by the body for energy. Several things happen when food is digested: A sugar called glucose enters the bloodstream. Glucose is a source of fuel for the body. An organ called the pancreas makes insulin. The role of insulin is to move glucose from the bloodstream into muscle, fat, and liver cells, where it can be stored or used as fuel. People with diabetes have high blood sugar because their body cannot move sugar from the blood into muscle and fat cells to be burned or stored for ...

This article caught my attention due to, in 1998 I was diagnosed with type 2 dietetics. This article, along with Starr and others gave me great information on the subject. I am glad to know there are other alternatives to cure diabetes
In my opinion, Stomach-shrinking surgery should be a routine treatment for people with type 2 diabetes, and the insurance company should pay it. It would not only save money it will saving lives. Since they pay for kindney and heart surgery which are brought on by type 2 diabetes. I think I will try it if my health Does not inproved.
