SMART Marketing Resolutions for 2015 Having goals is just a start. People need an action plan or a resolution. In the article “How to Set SMART marketing Goals” by Mike Lemire, he stated that “Goal setting is probably one of the hardest things marketers have to do.” Goal setting is something most of us recognize as necessary for our success. With a clear goal and a timeline, people can start to put together strategy (Lemire, 2014). Everyone needs to be smart on setting our resolution more on goals. The first investment that people make will probably be the hardest. Everyone has different financial goals. The first part of this goal is about hard work. According to Rieva Lesonsky, “It is important to look at marketing costs as investments in your business and your brand- not as expenses.” Some business owners don’t need an economic downturn to have an expense only mindset. This mindset is one of the biggest downfalls of business in general. If everything is viewed as an expense, then decisions are based not on a growth model but rather a survival mode. At this time of the year, many people will assess the effectiveness of their marketing plans of the last year. When I set my SMART goal in order to increase my physical activity, the goal was to feel better about myself and to have a clearer mind so that I could do well with my studies this resulted in increasing my physical health and wellness. There were a few challenges of having to force myself to get out of bed even though I was feeling really anxious. I think when making a SMART goal and changing that particular behaviour there will be changes that need to be faced and overcome. These might include psychological, family and work commitments, health challenges and many other duties. Motivation and time management therefore need to be considered when making a SMART goal to make this possible and therefore can succeed in their new behaviour change.
There can be no success without goals or targets. This is because success is relative to a set target and whether we have achieved it, or at least making steady progress towards attaining it. For you to succeed, set a goal, a measurable target that represents what you envision: that is what you want or where you see yourself in future. A goal should be measurable so as to enable you to monitor your progress and help you know whether you are on track or you have gone off.

There are periods of time when the demand for a particular product is extremely high. Ice cream for example is a seasonal product that sells mainly during the summer. Ski equipment is gear that sells only during the winter season. There are exceptions of course as medicines and tea. Both can be bought and consumed at any time where as, medicines peak sales in winter and tea also. This does not mean though that the products die during the other seasons. However, it is evident that demand drops. In such cases sales drop too, so does revenue and profits, labor force becomes too much in the organization, costs for supporting depreciating machineries increase especially for the production of limited number of goods, expenses for salaries increase and as a whole the business starts going down. Many businesses face this situation nowadays. The question is how to deal with it. One main way of coping with this problem is cutting expenses.
