Recommended: Sigmund Freud contribution to the field of psychology

Throughout the centuries, we have come across many great thinkers. Most of them, have developed many great theories and ideas to help us grasp a better understanding of our lifestyle and development. When it comes to understanding the human mind, personality, and behaviors, I found the work of Freud and Bandura to be quite intriguing. For instance, Freud explored the human mind and explain what factors influence our behaviors and how our personality comes about, meanwhile, Bandura focus of the different ways through which we learn new behaviors and acquire information.
To begin, one of the most famous and influential thinkers from the last century is known as Sigmund Freud and he is also the father of Psychoanalytic Theory. He has comes to believe that our behavior is influenced by our thoughts and motivation outside of our consciousness. All that we experience during our …show more content…

• The Phallic Stage =) the child learn to differentiate between the male and the female gender and becomes aware of sexuality. He clarified during that stage a child experience the Oedipus complex, meaning that young boys have very strong feelings toward their mother and as a result, they developed jealousy toward their father. They feeling can be so strong that they want to kill their father. The Elektra complex which reveals girl attraction for the father will result in a feeling of distaste for toward their mother.
• The Latency Period =) during this stage personality is definitely established. The child continues to develop but his or her sexual urges are not as loud.
• The Genital Stage =) the transition to adolescent shake off old dependencies and they learn to handle maturely the opposite
