A major feature is the potential the technology can provide for small businesses, in reaching national and international economic markets (Vitez, 2009). The computer itself is a low-cost option, which could provide an increase in production, employment and profit for developing businesses. Another feature is the basis of communication processes between employee and consumers. Encroachment of digital technologies on business means that organisations are returning to the pre-industrial revolution marketplace, where customers have direct access to the organisation and to one another. The Internet has provided individuals with the ability to organise quickly around any issue without the assistance of organising entity. The cultural impact on society could increase the risk of losing cultural identity and assimilating themselves into an increasingly westernized world (Cackler, Gu, & Rodgers, 2008). The language barrier could also be in impact, with English being the lingua franca of the world, this could imply difficulties in communication with potential consumers and reflect an online reputation.
