Managing Stress for a Relaxing Movie Experience

Movies. The most stressful, yet a relaxing activity. After thinking about how such a relaxing topic be stressful, I have come to the conclusion that it isn’t the activity that is stressful. It is the planning, and organizing the event that is stressful. To be able to plant myself in the comfortable couches with comfort food and drink and not worry about anything to escape to a safe place. Going to the movies with my friends where all of us are involved in the movie is indeed a very relaxing activity; however, figuring out the logistics of the event beforehand to create a plan for the activity to go as smoothly as possibly is tough. This creates a more enjoyable environment as I am able to discuss the movie and talk about it after watching it on the way home. Going to the theatre with my friends is a tough experience as we have to coordinate each other schedule and preferences in order to go to the movies. Before even deciding anything about go to the movies, my friends and I try to work out a time that works the best for us. This gives us a limited options as we also have to keep in mind that we do not have access to a car. Therefore we will have to take the Mall and Market bus on Saturday or Late Night bus that is available Thursday through Saturday. Once we have decided on a date that works best for all of us, we try to search for the movies that are playing in the theatres. This is when the most frustrating part comes, as we are all very indecisive about what to watch. Within my group of four friends, three of us like romantic comedy movies, and three of us like action thriller; it is very hard to please all four of us when going to the movie. If they do, we tend to go the theatre at least a day before to secure the tickets and the seats for the movie that we want to watch. I faintly remember when my friends and I wanted to go to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie on the night it released all the shows were sold out, therefore we had to buy the tickets for the following day. However, when I tried to get the tickets a week after the Maze Runner: Scorch Trials was released we had no problem getting the tickets at good seats. Once the tickets reach our hands and are securely put in our wallets, we start deciding if we want to go eat out. Depending upon how long it has been since we all seen the outside world far away from our campus, and if we are willing to spend the extra money on food that is actually worth it, we decide where to eat. Since most of my friends are engineering majors and barely get to see the outside world, we do decide to eat out at places like Jasmine Thai Restaurant where the food is cooked to perfection and isn’t anything close to what we eat at campus. Once we fill our stomachs, we go to the theatre. We usually end up taking the south campus bus as that is the bus that picks us from the Boulevard Mall and eventually after hours of looping takes us to the AMC. As we make our way into the AMC we all decide if we want to buy
