Hey, you! Can you give me your favorite Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail quote? This movie is filled with all kinds of hilarious puns and jokes that can make anyone laugh til they cry. The group Monty Python is a comedy group out of England that is made up of six actors. Most of their skits have some historical background to them. Which is the same in the movie Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. Anyone with an eye for the medieval times can pull of many true historical factors. The most noticeable is the way many of the people lived, however if you dive deeper into the some of the meanings of the scene you can find even more historical factors that are expanded to add to the humor. In this scenes, King Arthur and his knights, who are English, want entrance into both castle to look of the Holy Grail. However, the French soldiers do not permit entrance to the men, but instead hurl insult after insult and later livestock on the Englishmen. Anyone with historical knowledge of the French and English relationship would realize the movie shows the relationship really well. These two countries have never really like each other and it dates back to medieval times. Each country at one time or the other has openly attacked the other to gain land or make claims on the throne. In the movie, King Arthur is trying to get the Holy Grail to which the French soldiers state they have. With the French and English relationship in the movie, the scenes add to the humor of the movie along with the historical background. Many of the historical aspects in Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail are add to the movie, but expanded to add to the humor of the movie. Some viewers might be able to point out many of the historical themes in the movie, and many can’t find them. To be honest, I knew the movie was only based in medieval times, but that is all I thought of it. It was fun to watch the movie trying to find deeper aspect of history in the humor of the movie.
