With everyone having their own opinion on the Torah it is hard to say that there is an exact message of the book. Scholars have spent years arguing, debating, and ripping each other’s opinion apart on what exactly the Torah’s message is. The message of the Torah is that God has His way of taking the most unlikely person and making an example of them whether it be by failure or examples of greatness.
Examples of the way God uses people are placed all throughout the bible constantly. In the beginning of Genesis God took the bible’s biggest sinner and made an example out of him which in the end brought God glory. Satan his is the last person you would expect God to ue for anything but he is God’s first choice. God’s next choice of people to use played into him using Satan. God made Adam and Eve two perfect humans. With there being no knowledge of sin how could anything possibly go wrong? Well Satan is what’s wrong. His envy for God turned his love for God into Hate. The devil was said to be the highest angel in God’s ranks and most favored. So being that God is all knowing that would mean he knew the beginning to the end. Knowing the beginning to end would mean he knew that the devil would appear to eve in garden as a serpent. Also why place temptation in a place of perfection. Adam and Eve knew God, but did Adam and Eve give God glory? Why would they if everything is perfect? The devil was nothing more than a pawn piece in God’s plan. His job was well fulfilled then and is still till this day being fulfilled. God uses the devil every minute of every day. People glorify God to spite the devil, but the devil far from the last person God would use to bring him glory.
God also used a man named Abraham. Abraham was a simple man who took care of sheep and cattle and lived with his wife Sarai. All Abraham wanted was a son. God one day called on Abraham and told him he wanted to give him the land of the world for him and his future families. Abraham received his son but was asked by God to do one thing. God asked Abraham to offer the son he wanted so bad up to God and to give up the one thing he wanted more than anything.

The book of Matthew chapter 5 through 7 was known as, “The Sermon on the Mount”. Which were words spoken by Jesus Christ. The purpose of this Sermon was to show representation of the normative foundation of Christian Morality. For instance, this passage was more so fixated on whole hearted benevolence towards others around you and genuine devotion to God.
Notably, Bultmann’s approach is less as a debunker and more as an interpreter: his idea of the NT is a kind of pure theology written in the poetry of narrative. Therefore, the narrative elements are not important they are means of expressing a theological insight born of an encounter with God. Particularly, Jesus’ the death and resurrection are not two separate events, or two halves of one event. Christ simultaneously is crucified and God resurrects him to conquer death, is a singular event. As a result, the act of proclaiming Christ transcendence of the fallen world results in the person experiencing an encounter and relationship with Christ. Therefore, faith is an act of trust in this encounter and Christ's resurrection is an ongoing activity within the kerygma, and historical "facts" become irrelevant. Bultmann is criticized of denying the actual resurrection; perhaps it may be more accurate to say he redefines it.
For me in Judaism by far the more impressive explanation is free will, God made Satan, he is not a rebellious angel. God created both good and evil. The Bible says so, in Isaiah 45:?God created the universe because God wanted to do good.? So there had to be people to receive that goodness. But God does not want to just give away good as a present. God wants people to appreciate it. Something you get for free you do not appreciate. And in fact, if you got something amazingly good for free, and you were allowed to enjoy it for all eternity, you would not appreciate it. If you didn't work for it, you don't deserve it. So G-d decided that people would have to work for it, and receive the ultimate goodness as a reward for hard work. People are tempted every day by their yetzer tov and yetzer horah, whether to do good or bad things, you need to overcome your yetzer horah to become a great person and receive reward in the afterlife. Say, for example, you have a desire to tell harmful gossip about someone.
In John Milton’s, The Paradise Lost, Milton’s representation of Satan makes us uncomfortable due to the recognition of his humanizing and relatable reaction to what happened to him. The reader expects Satan to be an evil, and malevolent figure who does evil acts because he loves it and there is no defense for it. While these aspects are prevalent in his character in the poem, Satan does not come across as a completely wicked person but instead, a victim. The representation of Satan has a personifying quality that any of us may have and do not want to admit. In book one, Milton’s portrayal of Satan makes us uneasy because we relate to his actions, which are ordinary human responses to similar situations. It is troubling to say that in this particular poem, Satan resembles humans. However, our human nature is to have an instant reflex to justify our actions without taking any responsibility, which resembles the way Satan justifies his mischievous acts in this poem. Most of the time, we would never think of Satan as a victim; yet, we find ourselves discovering our human nature in Satan’s rationalizations. So, what humanizes this monstrous figure? After thoroughly reading book one, there are many instances when Satan justifies what he has done to make sense of it. Satan believes that God deceived him because he did not know how much power he possessed. According to Satan, God did unjust things that justified his actions. Satan has a whole rationale that God had arbitrary power that caused Satan to become the way he is in the poem. It is known to most that the gospels often differ from historical facts due to the writer of each gospel putting significant emphasis on particular actions and attributes of Jesus. Also a major part in this difference is the fact that the gospels were written 35-60 years after the death of Jesus and some of these memories have altered over time. Differences in conflicting evidence, writing to different communities, writing during a different time period, and with different intentions are all more reasons as to why these gospels conflict with historical facts. There is said to be six accounts that are subdivided into two separate traditions. These two traditions are those having to do with the appearance of Jesus in Galilee and the others are the appearances of Jesus to the eleven disciples in Jerusalem. These two traditions seem to not have any knowledge of one another and when the two were attempted to be combined into one tradition it was proven that this is not only impossible but it is unbeneficial.

Every Christians today knows the story of Jesus birth. The story of how Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem for a censes declared by the Roman Empire. While not being able to find an inn to stay in and Mary getting ready to give birth, they stow away in the cave where the animals were kept. While there Mary gave birth to a son and called him Jesus. While Jesus was in a manger a heavenly host of angles came down and also Shepard’s from the field came and rejoiced the savior was born. This is where the typical nativity scene comes from. Unless you have a Doctorate and teach a History of the New testament class and go into fine detail about the story, then story this is what people hear. Well this is for History of the New Testament so the fine details are what we are looking for. Most people do not realize that the story they tell every Christmas is actually a combination of two stories. The birth story is told in the Gospels of Luke and the Gospels of Mathew but each tell a very different version of what actually happened and that is what leads to people questioning the accuracy of the bible today.
Simply stated, “the word "gospel" means simply good news.” With that definition, then the good news would summarize all of the information found in the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul recaps the most basic components in the gospel message. Satan was thrown into existence, into the world heaven and realizes there in fact is a hierarchy, the one who rules and those who are ruled. In Satan’s case, every step he takes he feels he is getting closer to Hell. Satan is on a path he doesn’t want to be on but he has to fulfill his promises, committing to a world where it is better to reign in hell, then to serve in heaven. Satan takes initiative over Adam and Eve because they remind him of himself, and it his way in overtaking the almighty monarch, God. He describes Adam as being the strong one of the pair and Eve being quite interesting but not so strong. Satan’s mission becomes to get them to turn on the father in heaven, but they have to be willing to turn themselves. But how does he accomplish this, he does so by examining them and penetrating their minds. He listens to them talk (line 415). Satan listens to Adam (line 515). Satan is the only one who gives a damn about Adam and Eve, ironically. Which digs deeper into the one forbidden thing motif. The one forbidden thing is always taken: forbidden knowledge. Further questioning, why would God forbid them knowledge, is it because knowledge makes you like the devil? Satan makes you wonder, who are the people that will prevent you from knowing things? The people who will prevent you from knowledge are the tyrants of the world, in this case
The relevance and authority of scripture from three different viewpoints first evangelical with its strong emphasis on the Word of God it left little room to advance with the ever changing culture. Second the Liberal movement was all about cultural relevance and used only as a record of history. Each holds a valid argument Neo-Orthodox however is a good blend of both cultural relevance and scriptural foundation.
Milton shows that the potential for evil was innate in these beings and was not the result of corruption from an external force. The book of Exodus is seen as, the “Second Book of Moses”, as well as the second book in the Pentateuch . The Pentateuch is the first five books of the Old Testament, and is also known as the Torah, or “Law” in Hebrew, which is just one section that makes up the whole Hebrew Bible or Tanak. The Torah consists of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers, and is the beginning sections of the Bible. The other two sections are known as Nevi’im, “Prophets”, and Ketuvim, “Writings”. Upon analysis of the book of Exodus, it is expressively important to consider the historical aspects, literary issues, and theological themes that make up such a book.
Just like Faustus, Lucifer has extensive knowledge of the power of God, as he is described by Mephastophilis as “a most dearly loved of God” (Marlowe 3.95). Lucifer’s goal in Paradise Lost is to become greater than God as he knew how big God’s power was. However, the difference between Faustus and Lucifer is that Lucifer becomes temptation itself as he starts to recruit more of God’s angels to go against him to “have equal’d the most High.” Milton writes that when Lucifer was thrown out of heaven, all his “Host Of Rebel Angels,” were thrown out with him (1.37-40). Thus, Lucifer’s pride not only lead him to rebel against God but to become the source through which more angels would rebel and wage war against God. Ask anyone to draw Satan and you 'll get a red snake-like figure with horns and a pitchfork. Satan, as introduced in the Hebrew bible is an unworthy adversary of God. His longing to be like God is quickly recognized and dealt with. God banishes him from Heaven and sends him to Hell. That 's the last we see of him until he talks with God about his faithful servant Job. In each interaction we see Satan in, we get only a glimpse of who he really is. Satan 's motive is not developed and we assume he does evil simply because he is evil
