Immigration is very important to Canada and the Canadian government, and there are many people that Immigrate to Canada each year. There are many reasons for why people want to move to Canada, because this country offers multiple services and programs for people who need them, and give them rights other countries don’t.
A very important right is personal safety. In Canada, crime rates are low compared to many other countries in the world. This is very important for people who come from countries where there is war, and safety ended for them outside a room. In Canada, people are free to go wherever they please without having to worry if they are being followed or not.
Another reason people move to Canada are for social programs. In many countries, fees for education and health care are very high and many people can’t afford them without having to sacrifice other simple things. In Canada, education is free until high school, and there are many scholarships for University. Most health care services are also free, and there are many other government-run programs to assist people when they move here (such as welfare).
In some countries, people are prohibited to practice a certain religion or follow a different culture. Women are also prevented from some rights men have, such as not being able to have certain job qualifications, not being able to give their opinion in community projects and other simple things like not being allowed to drive. In Canada, everyone is seen equally, and everyone has equal rights and is allowed to do what they want.

This in turn will encourage immigration, another way to boost the Canadian economy.

This is once again a large contributor to why Canadians should be proud of Canada, one point that proves that the Canadian charter of human rights contributes toward this is the fact that the rights allow freedom. The charter of rights states, “Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:(a) freedom of conscience and religion; (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and d) freedom of association.” This specific right allows Canadians to do many things like allowing them to express themselves freely. The next reason that proves that the Canadian charter of rights is something Canadians should be proud is the fact that the rights allow right justice to all Canadians. Immigration is a significant role in building our economy, providing growth in the labor force, making a strong economy, and becoming a multicultural nation.
Every year, over 250,000 people make Canada their new home. Attracted by its education system, economy and universal healthcare system, there are few other places in the world like it. All Canadians are guaranteed equality before the law and equality of opportunity, regardless of where they are from. However, some might argue that Canadian policy has not been put into practice as well as it should be. Is the concept of true equality a far-fetched idea? It seems that Canada has taken great measures to promote the integration of immigrants socially, but can the same be said for their integration economically? Politically? To judge whether or not Canada has been successful at promoting the integration of immigrants in these realms, a deeper understanding of Canadian policy must be considered.

This second wave of immigrants contributed to Canada’s exponential population increase, alongside baby boomers. Canada was also introduced to many cultures and religions conveyed overseas by newcomers from Asia and Europe. This symbolized the start of Canada’s worldwide recognition of a multi-cultural country. As the coveted land for foreign citizens, Canada did not completely welcome every person who applied for citizenship. Under that desirable façade, the Canadian government somewhat welcomed and admitted immigrants with a comparatively hospitable attitude, however, once the immigrants arrived in Canada, they were left alone by the government to fend for themselves. Being a Canadian citizen provides you with the freedoms to travel, and settle in Canada at your own will and desire. Also, the freedom to express your sexual orientation is welcomed and well supported in many communities. Modern discrimination against categorizing human beings is very slim and everyone of all ethnic or cultural backgrounds are welcome with respect and good intentions. Canada is an extremely welcoming and protective place, in which nearly everything is done to promote equality, and a safe country.

Before WWII the immigration policies were "picky" on the people who wanted to come to Canada, but after, it was fair and equal to everyone. Canada's immigration policies changed drastically from being discriminative to being fair and equal to everyone, every country and race after WWII. This act to eliminating discrimination was successful because of; the introduction of the Point System, the introduction of New Immigration acts/policies, and finally the changes made in accepting Refugees. As you know, once you settle into a new country, it is customary to start a life which means, having a family, a job and a home. But during the war, it prevented many Canadians form having a child since there were limited jobs and homes, which made it hard to provide an income to support their family. But after the war had ended, everything went suddenly right. Thousands of young men returned home to return back to their jobs and start a family. By 1950, its population went up by nearly 30% due to young people having a lot of babies which resulted in the “Baby Boom”. As new young families began to emerge, they started purchasing cars, homes and furniture and things they have ever wanted but could not during the war.
