When I was ten, if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would have instantly thought about being a wizard. But I knew magic wasn’t real so I would have told you that I wanted to be a chef. Still, the longing to be a wizard remained. That was the year I read the Harry Potter Series for the first time. These books shook my world as a 4th grader, and I became infatuated with them. The magic felt real to me, and I desperately wanted to be a part of the world I was reading about. Today, I am not as obsessed as I once was, but I still have a deep love for the books. The Harry Potter series are some of the most influential books I have ever read because they sparked my passion for reading, allowing me to become more creative, and ultimately influencing my career path.

Using my imagination is one of my favorite things to do, and I love coming up with innovative ideas, so I decided to pursue these passions. The film industry isn’t practical, but a few years ago, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t settle for a career I didn’t love just because it was secure. My main career objective isn’t to make a lot of money or become famous; I just want to love what I do. I want to make something that affects people in a way similar to how the Harry Potter Series affected me. My infatuation with reading has inspired a passion for creativity, which I have chosen to pursue. I still worry I made the wrong choice, but I hope that choosing passion over practicality will lead me to a career I love.
