The youth empowerment support services (YESS) is an organization that is dedicated to helping youth from the ages of 15-25 find a better future. The majority of the youth that access YESS are homeless and they are looking for ways to improve there lives. The resources that YESS offers are housing, employment, access to doctors, access to councilors, clothing, and food. The main resources that are used are housing and employment. Housing first handles the referral for housing for the youth; they believe that in order to stop homelessness the first step is to provide the homeless with a stable home where they can relax. Recently YESS has established an employment program that aims to prepaid youth with the basic skills to get a job. All of these stakeholders play an important part of the employment program but most just have a singular role. There is only one key stakeholder in this program and that is the revenue development committee.
Revenue development committee
YESS is a non- for-profit organization, this means they get their money from grants and donation. The organization must be very careful about where they are spending their money. The organization as a whole has the most to lose if the employment program is not successful because it means that they lose money; which is limited. At the same time, it has the most to gain because if the youth get a job as a result of the employment program then the money that was spent was worth it.
MI safety
This organization pays a nurse to come in and teach the youth First Aid; they also pay for each certification. First aid is typical $150 per person, but the youth take who take the course get their certification for free. MI safety handles all the expenses including the manikins and all other equipment. The only thing YESS has to provide is the youth.
