During the early 1930’s, major problems that took place in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird (TKaM), are still worldwide issues to this day. Prejudice and racism remain as some of the top issues the world faces. Throughout TKaM, Boo Radley faced many encounters of prejudice. In the beginning of the story, Scout told Dill: “Inside the house lived a malevolent phantom.”(pg.7) People ostracized and gossiped non stop for years because he had a troubled past and was a little different.
