Popeye’s is a fast food restaurant that was founded in Atlanta in 1992 as AFC Enterprise Inc. according to Louisiana P Kitchen, the company is a developer, operator and franchisor of quick service restaurant, which is under the trade name ‘Popeye’s’ Louisiana Kitchen and Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuits. Popeye’s is an international franchise and have about 2000 restaurants worldwide, however Popeye’s is chosen as my observation eatery because of the ideality of its location. 164.) The location of the establishment and the affordability of the meal at the eatery attract a certain class of individuals. Additionally, living in a society overrun with different gender-related social interaction styles, make it is easy to understand why people believe that men and women come from two distinctly different cultures. Gender roles have become learned patterns of behavior that we, as citizens, define as masculine and feminine. Even though we are no longer living in a patriarchal society male dominance is still prevalent; during my observation the male displayed a sense of control when he stopped to overlook the place, a male is usually more alert and oriented, whether the situation seems harmful, while women are less carefree about their environment especially if they think it is not harmful or dangerous at the moment. He also assumed his role as the alpha-male when he held on to the lady’s hand and stopped abruptly, she was immediately submissive as she stops suddenly and just glance at him and didn’t say a word. Socialization in its entirety would be incomplete without examining the process by which we develop our gender. Gender, along with race, ethnicity and culture is one the principal element of our social being. Our career choices, our everyday behaviors, tastes and desires, our experiences in relationships, and our impression in the eyes of others are directly or indirectly linked to gender. To add to that, diversity of culture is acquired through communication and the transmission of information, furthermore, some cultural characteristic behavior, values and beliefs come to be more common in a population, whilst some become less common and die out. People from different socioeconomic backgrounds live different lifestyles as well as have different opportunities available to them, whether it be at work, at play or even a simple place for dining and
