Every year it's the same. Some famous actress, writer or a public figure's quote on women empowerment is made into a wallpaper and it will fly through the entire social media on March 8th for the International Women's Day. And at the end of the day, after watching and seeing women being celebrated across all social media platforms, we go back to sleep, only to wake up to the terrible news of a woman being raped, abused, harassed and mimicked in the streets, work place and at their very own houses. For starters, don't misunderstand feminism to be something we women use to have an abuse of power and trying to dominate the men in the society. Feminism is all about women being treated equally to men which hasn't been achieved yet because we are still underpaid in the work place, we are still slaves in many parts of the world and the rate of violence on women is higher than ever. Hence the name 'feminism' because we are still trying to get to the place where women are treated equal to men. I don't know how many men will consider everything I wrote today as a 'femi-nazi' rant and will try to understand where women stand today in the 21st century. There might be a few obnoxious men and women who will try to put each gender at war against each other, but please try not to let them blind you. An individual behavior has nothing to do with their particular gender and it definitely doesn't mean all men or all women are the same. Our society needs to address so many issues regarding women empowerment that a single day cannot determine our stance on it. There is a lot that needs to be achieved and things that needs to be done to reach where we strive to, for a harmonious and well-developed society. Until our voices are heard at the root of it all and the purpose of ours are understood at every corner, let everyday be a day to stand for the women of our lives and of the
