Surname 3 Author Tutor Course Date Inaccurate Portrayal of Drug Use and Effect in ‘The wolf of wall street’ In this movie, The Wolf of wall Street, it clear that the use and effect of drugs has been inaccurately portrayed, and after watching the film one may feel like using drugs makes one a hero, which is not the case. There is a comedic high point which is a drug overdose or at least it’s also supposed to be funny in other way. In this movie in a voiceover, the Wall Street con man who is Jordan Belfort jokes that he’s just bypassing the usual stage of a Quaalude high, also drooling and going straight to seizures instead (Brian 4). Jordan, who is played by Leonardo DiCaprio, just drags his contorted body top the steps of his own country club, he also rolls himself down the brick stairs and then struggles into his Lamborghini so he can drive away. In this movie, there follows a slapstick scene whereby Belfort and his partner in their business and also the vice tumble across the floor of Jordan’s mansion and the self-administer a remedy of just a bump of cocaine. Given also the length, this cheeky narration and just also the way it is spliced with the cartoon scenes of Popeye getting a spinach boost, Many people have generally criticized this film for just not showing the victims of Belfort’s dishonest financial schemes but in this case also few have noted the victims of his alcohol and drug addiction
