It was nice hearing from both of you. We really enjoyed your holiday newsletter and the article written about you, Adam. Mazel Tov! You both are truly amazing and full of life, energy and passion! The Richman cousins were able to get together this past weekend for Hanukkah, unfortunately without Amanda and Jonathan this year. Hopefully both are surviving their final exams this week. We're looking forward to seeing them over winter break and catching up on birthday and holiday celebrations with them too. We're also looking forward to heading down to Florida to visit Stephen and Aunt Judy in January while the boys are on a winter break. Peter is now officially in negotiations with the company looking to hire him away from IBM. I think they want him to start before the end of the year. We'll see what happens. The change sounds great for Peter, however, Ethan will no longer being eligible for his IBM Watson scholarship. He still has opportunities for other scholarships this spring. Jonathan is continuing to plow through tons of physics, astrophysics, and math courses each semester. He's on track to completing his five year (3+2 dual) engineering program for his BSE in physics and astrophysics with a minor in math in three and a half years. It …show more content…
One of his Russian poem translations will be published this coming spring. He also had the opportunity to prepare and listen to his String Quartet composition be performed live in concert in November. What an experience for him! His last piano recital of the year is scheduled this weekend and I'm hoping to get a nice recording of him performing the Beethoven 'Pathetique' sonata. During his winter break, he'll begin preparing for his Senior Solo Recital which will include works of Beethoven, Liszt, and Chopin. Peter and I are saving up for piano string repair bills. We're expecting a lot of broken strings with the Liszt
On behalf of my beautiful wife and I, we would like to thank you all for coming along, and sharing this very special day with us. And a huge thank you for the wonderful presents.
In the summer of 2013 I experienced nine days of the pure Alaskan terrain alongside one-hundred or so fellow cadets, learning about teamwork and leadership that would aid me in my future endeavors; or so said the forms my parents all-too-willingly signed, and I reluctantly and with careful uncertainty did so as well. I was an excellent cadet—involved in all community service opportunities as possible, participating in all color guard presentations possible, and dedicating two extra hours in my mornings to drilling my feet sore for the sake of maintaining the Eagle River High School’s reputable drill team status. But my one deficiency that grayed my instructor’s heads and made me appear less accomplished with my missing ribbons that were on my peers’ uniforms was my avoidance of any and all wilderness activities. “Winter Survival Where You Get To Freeze All Night And Have To Walk A Mile To The Bathroom And Make Sure You Bring A Buddy And A Flashlight?” I think not. “Summer Leadership School With No Showers And Porta-Potties And Wild Bears Ransacking Your Personal Belongings?” I’ll enjoy the comforts of my home, thank you very much.
Thank you very much for the hospitality during Nick’s graduation week. We all had such a great time and are glad that the Goldman family could celebrate with us! It was great to see you again; may I remind you the Brave Old Army Team began a historic winning streak over Navy last time I was able to visit. We are all so excited to welcome Loren into our (sometimes crazy) family next year; it is easy to see where her personality and witty sense of humor originates. You all know how to have a great time!
After two years Bezos left Fitel for Bankers Trust Company, where he oversaw the development of a program BTWorld – a software program that allowed the company's customers to check the performance of their pension plans.

Spring break like western democracy, educational systems, philosophy, science, and the arts started in ancient Greece. Historically spring break was the time where Dionysus, the god of wine and festivities, was venerated. In this time the Grecians would have festivals with wine drinking competitions and performances. It can be said that mere details have changed in this holiday or break, but not much else. In 1936, Florida hosted the First College Coaches Swim Forum that brought many college swimmers to the area. This meeting of swimmers evolved to parties of students at the beaches and pools of Florida during this week. Spring Break kept evolving and becoming an event for college students thanks to the production of movies and songs like Spring Break starring Tom Cruise and Shelley Long or Girls Gone Wild. Spring Break is not all about the drinks and the parties. Although the evolution of Spring Break has been created around the idea of college students consuming products that are not ideal for the body or engagement in activities that are not the norm in every day life, other programs have been created not involving these ideals. These other programs range from college sponsored
South Shore Schools should have school year round. South Shore should have school all year because it would give kids more time to learn more and in greater depth. Students would have three more months of school each year to learn more and since school is about nine months students would get about one more year of time in school every three years which could help students excel in their studies. Another reason why students at South Shore should have school all year is that during the summer no learning is enforced and students can forget what they learned during the last year. This can cause students to get behind in their studies when they come back to school and then students can get poor grades and learn less because they are overwhelmed.
If you’re anything like me or any other high school student you know that stress season is coming. It’s a joyous time where students unite to form study groups and enjoy the last two weeks of the semester before they go off into the boring period of “winter break.” Of course, no winter break is complete without the wonderful problem filled stapled stacks of papers handed to you as you walk out the door the last day. When you get handed that packet you know that those long winter break days that seem to last forever be no more thanks to all your teachers. May the rest of your day be filled with bliss and delight. Now this stress season isn’t simply the last day of school it’s so much more than that. It all started on November 9th oh yes the marvelous first day of the last grading
Last year, Right before winter break there were 3 snow days. On those 3 snow days It was below freezing. A pond behind my house started to freeze on the first day. After 3 days I saw many people walking on that 2 inch thick layer of ice. Everyone was running around on it slipping on it, It looked fun. The day after I decided to try it. I went outside and walked on the ice. The Ice was very slippery, I noticed that everyone that seemed happy.
Do you think it would be a bummer with no long summer? Well, year round schools take away all that summer fun. Do you really want that? Year round schools are not fun because they take away the sun for everyone. Wouldn’t you rather have more fun, Not lose your jobs or somebody else's, and have a better point of view from your parents. Well, school is already not the way we want to live our lives so let’s have the least of it as we can.
Over spring break, I mostly played games with my family. Me and my family went to an amusement park in Arizona for my sisters birthday. Next we went home and me and my sister played games and watched Tv for a week. Every morning that my dad went to work, I had to get up early and go to the gym with him, so I almost never got to sleep in. One Saturday he was off, me, my sister, and my cousin went with him to a renaissance fair. When we were there we got to look at all the medieval shops and trinkets. There were also shows and games we could play. The day before, we went to an amazing horse and acrobatic show. They even flooded the stage where the actors were and made them dance in water. It was very fancy and we had a lot of fun. The next week
Good afternoon, let me just start by saying that the kindness, support, friendship, and love extended to me and my family during this difficult time has really touched my heart- we are sincerely appreciative!
This week seemed busier than usual with the additional children being around the center for the spring break. Most of the spring breakers were children that attend public school. I was asked to assist with the spring breakers at one point throughout the week. They were a very entertaining and energetic group, so it was a fun experience interacting with them. As for my class, we had a lot of fun preparing for the Easter weekend. We sang songs, hop around like a bunny, read some Easter books and we even had a surprise visit from our special guest for the week, an actual rabbit.
Five, four, three, two, one....... the bell rings and summer vacation has begun. Students have been counting down this moment for months; summer vacation is finally here! The next several weeks, kids can sleep late, play all day, and just relax. Summer vacation should not be eliminated from the school year because students, teachers, and parents all need a break from stress, want vacation time, visit with their families, and have summer jobs.
Jeff attended Miami Palmetto high school and was valedictorian of his class. He went to Princeton and planned to study physics. He believed, however, that other physics students were much smarter than him. Therefore, he studied electrical engineering and computer science. He graduated summa cum laude in 1986 with a GPA of 4.3 on a 4.0 scale.
