Most people, when you say something about vacation places, will most likely think of someplace exotic and skip over smaller towns. Why do people do this? People don't realize the beauty of the rural parts of Virginia. Take Covington, Virginia, for example. The reasons I like to visit Covington, Virginia are because the wildlife is amazing, the community; and lastly, the sights from the mountains are phenomenal. My first reason why you should visit Covington, Virginia is because the wildlife is amazing. Since Covington is in the mountains and mostly forest, there is an abundance of animals. There are many different types of birds that live in Covington. With all of the birds that live there, the songs they sing are always in the air. There is also a bunch of fish that live in the many rivers and streams. These fish include trout, salmon, catfish, flounders, and many more. There are some many fish that during the springtime, you can almost always catch at least one fish. The city of Covington’s population is very small. In fact, with about 5,700 people, it is the third smallest city in Virginia. With this tiny population, the city is not busy. This makes it so you can get to your place faster. When you do see one of the locals, most of them are the nicest people you will ever meet. Lastly, since the community is so small, everyone knows everyone.
