The world around us is changing fast. People want to know and ready to learn more about different things, such as animals. Many of us have ever been in zoos and had different experience and emotions are associated with this visit. Some may say that keeping animals in captivity is a crime, others would totally disagree with this statement. People are different and their points of view are different. Regarding to me, I disagree that we should close zoos, because we have the opportunity to see wild animals, to learn about them and to provide qualified care to the animals.
First of all, people have the ability to see wild animals. Most of the animals are protected by law from hunting, such as wild tiger or blue macaw, so zoos are only one place where people can see them. Also, facts that make animals so attractive to zoo goers is their immune size. For example, African elephants can weigh as much as 15,000 pounds and killer whales can reach a length of 32 feet and a weight of 22,000 pounds. Many zoos are providing learning sessions, camps, zoo tours and workshops. Saint Louis Zoo visitor research shows:” when people experience the wonderment of animals, they are spurred on to learn more and act differently”. Thanks to the national zoo’s, scientist found that elephant mothers are protecting their children from predators by making clans. Other animals like chimps or killer whales are companionship as humans are. For example, as in human families mother keep supporting and helping a child throughout life, same thing is occur in a killer whale family. Today’s people are more concerned about natural world and that’s why they teaching kids to be more respectful to the nature world.
