Why We Should Banning Books Be Banned

Every year there is a week dedicated to banned books. We celebrate banned books but still have them banned because either they aren’t appropriate or they do not agree with schools or possibly a certain organization. Banned Books Week promotes books that have been challenged by the public. It also promotes freedom of books from schools, libraries and books stores. Books should not be allowed to be banned by schools and/ or organizations because it is compromising the first amendment. School administrators banning certain books does not help our society in any way because by keeping certain parts of a book out of readers hands students and other people are being deprived of what is out there for us to learn. Keeping certain books from students is not fair to them because they are not able to learn to the best of their abilities even if it does not agree with their opinion. Banning books that have sexual content, inappropriate words and violence are giving young people a reason to laugh about these certain topics when they are talked about in classes or read in certain books. If administrations taught kids at a younger age about how to not use violent words and how to handle themselves when a mature scene is taking place then it is more likely that when the topics such a violence, sexual content or inappropriate words come along students would be more likely to handle themselves in an adult manner. When students make a joke about what is happening in books they are offending the author of that book. Authors are being deprived of their freedom of speech because students and their parents cannot accept what is written on a
