DING! DING! Does that sound similar? It’s the sound of the most annoying thing ever, the alarm clock. Teen students are still tired, even to hit the snooze button they’re tired for that. For all middle school and high school students, this is a typical weekday morning. It’s not because they’re lazy to get up and get ready, it’s because of the school time that start really early. Every school district should have school start later in the day for many reasons. I will tell you two reasons why school schedules should change to later on in the day and one reason why it shouldn’t. Jayme Wagner who is a middle school students says, “As much as love sleeping in, shifting school times isn’t a good idea.” The extra hours of sleep for teens isn’t going to be for sleeping, it’s going to be for staying up until two in the morning just being on their phones or watching tv and still get at least five hours of sleep. Not only that, but changing the school schedule will be difficult for parents to drop off their child at school at nine in the morning because they have to go to work. Waking up early in the morning has always been a routine since we were in kindergarten. Everyone should just deal with it because nowadays people are tired now and then.

These were two reasons why school should start later and one reason why it shouldn’t. For me, I believe that all schools should start later on in the day. There would be better grades, better attendance, better sleep, better concentration, and better attitude towards school. Students would be a lot happier if all school districts change the school schedule. Just imagine sleeping in on a Monday morning and just relaxing before going to school.
