When someone asks you to name world problems you probably would not name poaching, Poaching is a topic that is hidden way sometimes it can occur places that are on the other side of the world. Some are unaware but, poaching is a scary subject to think about it could cause us to lose some of the most amazing creatures and it is very expensive to help save the animals as well. People sell the animal items on the black market so it can be difficult to catch the poachers themselfs. Poaching may be hard to see but it happens all around the world.
Poaching is terrible and should be stopped all around the world.
The world is full of beautiful life and is currently being destroyed by poachers. Poaching has the highest rate in places such as south africa, Tanzania as well as Zimbabwe. these places are causing major damage to the animal populations and so many people around the world are outraged about poachers and many people make petitions to help stop the killing. Soon these precious animals will be gone.

All these animals are being killed for boots,coats,horns,and tusks the items listed are all things people buy.Tigers alone can be worth 50,000 on the black market. When people buy this product it makes the poachers continue to kill off those animals. People also need to look into shopping for things before buying because it might of came from a horrible poacher and by you buying the product just makes them kill more

Poaching threatens the dying out of endangered species. Lions have virtually disappeared in Africa causing animal activists to protest for stricter rules on hunting big game. Damian Aspinall, director of the Aspinall Foundation, said,

There are many causes to the global problems expirenced in the world just as there are many effects. Both genocide and environmental pollution have posed major challenges for nations and regions of the world.
The second half of the 20th century has seen the continent of Africa in continuous turmoil. Civil wars, the AIDS epidemic, deforestation, and desertification are just a few of the problems facing Africa. A more recent threat to this ancient and fragile environment has emerged and is quickly gaining strength at devouring life – the bush meat trade. “Bush meat” refers to the smoked carcasses of various wild, and often endangered species that are sold illegally at rural markets of undeveloped countries and even at ethnic markets in developed nations. The meat of gorillas, chimpanzees, and elephants are considered delicacies and the demand for these endangered species is increasingly high. Countries at the center of this crisis are Botswana, Mozambique, Kenya, Zimbabwe, the Congo, Cameroon, Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania. Bush meat plays a crucial socio-economic role to many in Africa, and as such epitomizes the need to balance protection against such factors as poverty, health, and food security. In the article The Poaching Problem the author writes” elephant populations have declined to dangerously low levels.” At the rate that poachers are killing these innocent animal the entire species of elephants will be extinct in the year 2030! That is only twenty five years, I know that does not seem like a long time but it is going to go by fast and every one will regret killing all those poor innocent gentle creatures. In case study 483 they author writes “ During the 1970s and 1980s elephant poaching had included about 1.3 million elephants killed for their tusks.” It is hard to distinguish between legal and illegal ivory so it is sold easily.
Please help to save the animals, or they won’t be here any longer. Poachers are everywhere; “heck” one of them might be your next door neighbor. Poaching is only one of the leading causes of animals being on the endangered species list, so with all these poachers we need to protect the animals more closely. Animals that are close to extinction need to be placed in a zoo or sanctuary so they can flourish. People need to do this for the animals, they may not like it, but it helps get their numbers up.
The problem I have chosen is the problem of endangered species. An endangered species is a group of organisms that have a risk of becoming extinct. More than 90% of all species that have ever lived on earth has become extinct. Many reasons for this are habitat loss, predators, too few organisms for sustainable reproduction. For every wildlife animal legally hunted another is killed illegally; this is called poaching. The people who commit the type of crime such as that of hunting illegally are known as poachers. The worst part about this crime is that it is committed where no one can see or know what is happening. The motive of poachers can vary from wanting a trophy or pointlessly killing animals to harvesting a profit from ivories, horns, or antlers. If this environmental problem of poaching continues, then many species will either become endangered or extinct. This has been an ongoing problem for many years now and there have been many efforts to stop or catch poachers. There are various solutions that have been tried and tested but the latest and most effective solutions have yet to be explained.
Although it may not seem saving or protecting endangered animals is important, it actually and truly is important because animals around the world are being killed for wildlife market goods which is illegal and destroys the species population in that environment. Citizens should take more concern with taking care of these endangered animals before they become totally extinct and will no longer be seen on the face of the earth. All around the world, wild animals are being killed or even tortured for fur, sport, and even trophy. This is not just a problem here, but everywhere, it is a worldwide issue. Wild animals are a part of this earth, they share this earth we have with us, it is not just our planet. By killing these wild animals, we are saying goodbye to a big part of the world as we know it. If people stop killing these exotic or wild animals, our future generations will have the opportunity to love them and get to know them from afar, it will not just be something that once was, or something that used to be, it will be something that is and that always will be.
Due to lack of the lack of management and resources in the conservation programs has led to a further increase in poaching which has triggered to drastic decline in elephant populations. According to the Huffington post, a reputable news source, it reports, “an estimated 22,000 elephants were illegally killed across Africa in 2012”. In February alone there were as many as “650 elephants killed in a matter of days” If the elephant death continues at such a rapid rate it could lead to their demise. “Elephant poaching could wipe out 20 percent of African population in [the] next decade” (Huffington Post). An extinction in elephants would mean the possibly of many other species becoming endangered of going extinct as well.
Wildlife is the most relied on source of tourism and killing animals is not doing it any justice. Nations have very strict rules on poaching but still it continues. Any living thing should have the right to live and die naturally. Poachers kill without thinking that they are actually running themselves out of business. The more they kill the fewer amounts of that particular species remains. Take for example the poaching of elephants in the African savannah. This has rapidly the elephant’s population from millions to thousands. In this case, poaching is already a problem and people still want to encroach on the forests that these animals live in.
