Ethiopia is one of the most unique among African countries for maintaining its freedom from colonial rule, with the short exception of an occupation by the Italians from 1936-1941. A socialist state was established in 1974 with the overthrow of Emperor Selassie, who had been in control since 1930. A junta or group of military officers called the Derg was responsible for the coup. Yet, this corrupt administration has lead only to warfare and wide scale public suffering. In 1991, the junta was finally brought down by a combination of revolutionary forces who called themselves the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front. In 1994, a constitution was drafted and 1995 marked Ethiopia’s first multiparty elections. Recently, a boarder feud with Eritrea, that lasted over 2 years, was ended in December of 2000; yet recent objections by Ethiopia have delayed a final declaration of border.

In the 21st century, slavery and the Atlantic Slave Trade are viewed as immoral and quite possibly the most horrifying treatment known to man by society and foreign leaders but, was the same view regarded in the 17th century? The short primary sources, “Nzinga Mbemba: Appeal to the King of Portugal”, and “Captain Thomas Phillips: Buying Slaves in 1639”, enables individuals to identify how foreign leaders, specifically the kings of African nations, conducted the issue of slavery and the slave trade. In the words of Nzinga Mbemba and Captain Phillips, the kings of Congo and Ouidah both knowingly accepted slavery in their country but, had strikingly opposing views concerning the Atlantic Slave Trade; King Mbemba prohibited the trading of slaves whereas the King of Ouidah welcomed slave trading.

Many of the people I know, after they graduated from high school they move to another country because they are going to study in college. I did that, after I graduated from high school in Caracas- Venezuela I moved to Miami- Florida to fulfill my dream of completed a career and be a professional. All countries have things that are in similar and different. Two places I have lived are Caracas and Miami, both countries have different laws, education systems and the similarity is the security.
The threat of global terrorism continues to rise with the total number of deaths reaching 32,685 in 2015, which is an 80 percent increase from 2014 (Global Index). An even more contested concept is whether to broaden the scope of terrorism to include non-state and state actors.

From researching the country of Lithuania I was able to get a general overview if how the country is doing in many different aspects. With the learned statistics about Lithuania’s background, economic, standard of living, financial status, political stand point and environmental surroundings I can clearly get a good understanding of what it would be like to live in Lithuania. Also it was shown that the different countries around the world have their own specialties or strengths of things that they are better at. I had always been told that the United States is a great place to live and how lots of people want to move to the United States and through some of these stats I can see that yeah the United States generally does have better conditions. In conclusion this is what I have developed as my understanding of the wellbeing of the people living in Lithuania.
