Ever since I was a young girl, I always told my mom I was going to be a doctor one day. Now, as a young college student eager to take on every opportunity I am given with grace and gratitude, I have learned very quickly what it takes to set goals and not stop working until I achieve them. I am currently in my junior year at a small liberal arts college, Midland University. My studies have included many courses including those for my double major in biology and psychology with a pre-medicine concentration. While I have been attending Midland, I have also been a part of the NAIA national champion Midland University Dance Team. While dancing fifteen or more hours a week and spending all my free time studying, I managed to find space to work three jobs to support myself. That is why my career goals are to attend medical school and become an anesthesiologist. I know that with hard work, dedication, and all of the experiences I am given, I can get there. I have been blessed with a job at an assisted living facility, Nye Square, working as a CNA. This job has confirmed in me that my passion is to someday work with people and deliver medical attention to them. I have learned not only about myself but also the needs of the patients and their families during this job. Without this experience I would have still been on the fence with whether medicine was actually my passion. Attending medical school and becoming a doctor will not only be an amazing experience for me, but also the patients I will have. I am extremely passionate about doing anything I can to go above and beyond and get everyone the help and resources they need.
