Speech Pathology Working in the Early Childhood Development, I got to know a three year old boy named, Cole. He had a stuttering disorder. I could see it in his face, he would get embarrassed and frustrated whenever he could not get a full sentence out. I wanted to help him but I was not sure how, all I could think of is for him to start reading out loud and reading slowly. Which is why I want to become a speech pathologist. The speech pathology field is a career where one can work at numerous places. It is also a good paying job, depending on where I will live, and what location I will work. Being able to help others with their disorders and the rewarding feeling of seeing them improve is the reason why I have chosen to pursue my career as a speech pathologist. I will be furthering my education at Germanna Community College with the intent of transferring to a four-year university or college. …show more content…

It is a local community college, where you are able to stay close to your family and a affordable way to pay for college. Germanna offers many programs for students to pursue their careers. Attending this college will also allow me to work somewhere locally, so I can still pay for my books that I will need, or for any other necessities. I will be entering the two-year program Germanna offers. Which, is receiving my associates degree, then transferring to a four-year university or college. I plan to furthering my education at Radford University where they offer a program for communication and science disorders.
